They usually distribute focus on each member much better. Maskman, Zyuranger, Zyuohger, Zenkaiger and Gozyuger shaft the rest of the team giving most of the focus to the team leader. And there are things like Shinkenger, Kyoryuger, ToQger, Kyuranger and Donbrothers for example where the red gets dicksucked a lot, with Kyoryuger and Kyuranger probably being the worst offenders of that.
I think the only show where it felt like every main member was the main protagonist was Liveman, everyone from the trio got about equal focus.

Rei is a good tease (mostly thanks to that fight scene), Bouquet realizing Gozyu Blue is Rikuo is kinda expected. Ryugi retiring (bound to happen based on the premise) BUT the Tyranno ring goes to someone else? Kumade was like "yeah, this is the fight that awaits all of you in the future" solemnly makes it look like there's no more Gozyu Tyranno only for the ring to go "welp, time to rip off Green Lantern and find a new host" makes it feel like there's no more stakes here. It kinda makes it look like the whole thing is rigged against towards Universe Warriors while the Gozyu ring holders get a do over. I think Akiko is trying too hard to copy Donbrothers's frenetic pacing but the thing is that as feverish as Donbros were, the typical episode had like only two plotlines being followed through at the same time. Maybe three, tops. The pacing there was due mostly to the characters's antics and comedic situations. Same for the non-Akiko Gozyuger episodes, which also don't have that much going on in terms of plotlines.

But her episodes just have a whole shit ton of things happening in different story threads and nothing really gets room to breathe, we barely spend time with any of the characters and the plot advancements feel contrived and clumsy. Like, the last two-parter got us to spend some decent time with both Mashiro and Bouquet and almost single-handedly redeemed Mashiro as a character, and outside of the first few introductory episodes I can't recall a single Akiko-written episode with that much character quality time.
