Which pilots have Ace bonuses that are useful not just for themselves? I know Daba's one gives 3 Assist points when he sorties.

Some assists have pretty useless actives that only become better once you get them to level 40, like Reika's (fully refills Ammo and EN instead of just Ammo).

Miorine is genuinely one of the best Assists in the game, early Soul is absurd and she keeps making so much money. Borderline vital on Expert's early game.

Almost every real sucks because the game is extremely borked towards accuracy, meaning even on Casual the enemies in the final stages will have over 90% accuracy on EVERYONE. So why try to shieldtank or waste 9 casts of Intuition when I can just cast Wall once and leave my Super parked there?

2nd's assist is useful. But I'm not sure it's worth being the only 6 cost of the game.

Reina is S tier Assist. Other than that...

With Disrupt and Focus you still don't have 0% hitrates or anything but it's good enough to dodge a few hits. A lot of reals have Persist which you don't always have to spam since if you dodge it doesn't get consumed. Still, Wall tanking with high Armor and a Barrier is probably the best, yeah. Units like Kallen take 0 damage with fairly minimal investment.

Turbo Penetrator doesn't let you pass through enemies anymore. Also, don't quickskip the Talk convo Daba has with Olibee in her third appearance. It'll freeze the game and force a reset. You can hold R+O or whatever your platform has to fast-forward, though.

I think it's a good show and pretty in line with how jigoku is though. Honestly I don't think the inclusion was bad, think of other character heavy shows like bebop or godzilla sp, they skipped a lot things non combat related but gargantia actually got every single episode adapted (or at least they covered ledo's growth from episode 1 to episode 12 including his skin complexion). It neatly ties into black history from Z1 too. All things considered I found it more memorable than Diebuster in that game that felt more like "well, alpha has gunbuster so z needed its sequel"

The true final boss is basically the first superhuman possessed by the very will of the original clan of superhumans from 12000 years ago.
Yagami found her? (kidnapped her? it's up to interpretation) and kept her in stasis as a research project, and Echika is the 31st out of a series of clones of her as a manmade superhuman, Yaichi and Yachiyo (Cross and Forte) thought they actually were real siblings until the reveal, but still eventually take her as siblings.
You free the original superhuman from the dead evil spirits after the fight and Echika basically adopts her as her other sibling.

Having assists made him a borderline unstoppable force in vanilla, and UMvC3 let him cancel anything into fully-charged Z Buster and Sougenmu so you could forgo assists. As things stand in this game there's no real reason he had to die. He could just be hidden away for a while, then you get original Elan in the party scene, but then Elan 4 returns at some point afterwards, hijacking the Pharact during one of the Wulgaru or NOAH attacks and then staying with the A.Advent which is its own sovereign country. The factions from tWfM pretty much stop doing anything after that point in Y, so it's not like they'd need to worry about implications in the plot or anything.

As things stand, it kind of feels like they still wanted to leave things open enough they could actually go on to adapt season 2 - like Guel just staying as "Bob" until the end and avoiding the other tWfM characters even if you get him as a party member.

Even when doing the old tired Zeta/CCA they had a new angle with Char rethinking his life after Lelouch's death and the Federation falling apart, leading to a friendly Neo Zeon that's mostly a peacekeeping force for the colonies.

Almost every stage deals with more than one show. Even in remake scenes you often get characters from other series popping up and having active roles, not just comments, like Heero early on is mysterious mentor "angel boy" who Suletta saw when Miorine first tried to escape from the colony, and took them both back.

After the events of Destiny, Shinn was taken as Domon's pupil and he's basically a G Gundam character in this. In the beginning of the game, he's failing disciple, but if you trigger an optional stage you can get him to "graduate" to Domon's rival, which changes a lot of their dialogue afterwards for the rest of the game.

The villains also make big alliances among themselves like in the older games, and you even get scenes with them being dysfunctional by themselves.

This happens because although there are still side-chapters, now they're much more locked into specific contexts, many get completely closed if you progress the main story past them in the in-game flowchart. So, the writers have much stronger control over what stages you've done.

They also sometimes insert scenes tied to the ending of the previous main story stage into the beginning of the next one, doesn't matter what you chose to make it seem like things are flowing more naturally, rather than going from one stage to something completely unrelated.

The closest thing to 30's style is chapter 2 which has way more side-chapter than main chapters, but even there progressing in the main chapter locks out tons of side ones, aside from the kill count based stages.

The "Bird Human" was an ancient proto-culture bioweapon left on Earth essentially as Earth's guardian, with a special family being in charge of deciding if it should go ahead with that mission. They did but BX almost never let you do it, and you had fewer "base" deploy slots, so the flood of event deploys and new joins in the Unicorn/Age finales meant you only had 11-12 pairs of your own to use. Wing is somehow the only gundam show i have been able to marathon in 2/3 days. It is incredbily facisinating to watch, not as an actual show, by god by those standards its basically "Hype Moments And Aura" the show, but as a UC Speedrun. Fuckin Zechs goes through Chars entire character arc from 0079 to CCA in the span of the show, you have 0079, Zeta and ZZ happening at practically the same time, it ends on what is practically CCA, its fucking batshit insane.

The only thing i could say is actually good about the show are A) the mech designs, barring WZC cause i fuckin hate the wings, B) The music and C) Trieze and the whole Napoleonic Angle when it comes to war. It is strangely timeless, especially nowadays with the whole AI/Drone mobile suit thing.

Well, "inspired" does a lot of the work there. Look at SRW's own interpretation of Dunbine first and compare with the original, like "Aura Giri" going from a rare dramatic moment to a standard weapon with an obligatory name call, even with a "Hyper" variation.

In the actual Dunbine show, they move much more like mobile suits (with the emotional burst "miracles" we'd see in Gundam towards the end of Zeta), while SRW pushes the in a much more mystical direction.

When you consider that, then you can see how the flashy Cybuster was inspired by it.

I don't think the story is weak, but I do think it overstayed its welcome a bit.
Enemy variety is awful, you're fighting like the same two sets of mooks the entire game.
Level design reminds me of PxZ1 in a bad way, just unending reinforcement and the same template every single time.
The endgame is ExC on steroids, I found it way more exploitable, but that doesn't make the early game invalid imo.
But I don't know, this is the first time we get an actual solid crossover since jigoku. All the finale chapters are a hit for me, especially the dunbine-lgaim-delta one.
I won't say it's a step in slow decline, more like a tiiiiny step forward after 30.
