The one where Heero wanted to keep playing to get to the ending as fast as possible as a nod to Greenriver being a fan of these games was cute. I also really liked Bogue accidentally donating to Reika who is unconquerable, he will get nothing with a donation so small, and Bogue had an enamored portrait. I also liked Suzukaze's lolipop ones because I wasn't expecting a sequel to it. Do Front missions stick around forever, or they do they leave and come back after you finish one?

There is certainly an appreciable increase in challenge. I'm not even playing on hard and I have to be a bit more mindful and actually start upgrading much earlier than I usually do in the past few games

They temporarily disappear once you clear them, then come back after you do a few more missions. Relic missions don't count towards the hidden internal counter, idk if DLC missions do either. Until chapter 4 or 5, if you're super concerned about grinding and reaching score counts for units you're not fans of, keep doing them as they show up. Once you get to chapter 4 or 5, I can't remember which, enough front missions spawn that you can clear them all, and after the last one you clear, the first one you did will respawn. Then you can never run out of them and can grind forever.

They seem balanced around only giving you kills and money though, none of my units get reasonable EXP from them unless they're really far behind in levels

so if it says SoAndSo AND Whomever have a score of X is that a combined score or does it mean EACH

Gotcha. I hadn't done any until just now doing South American Front for the first time. I'm at the point where I already have stuff like the early Sirbine done, so a good way into chapter 2. When I beat the front the first time, I see it again on my mission list. But I guess maybe I'd "stocked up" on having done enough missions that the repeat instance of the stage has already respawned? Right now I'm not even doing it for the sake of units I don't use (except for Quess and Gyunei), I'm doing it to get the Chapter 2 kill requirements done faster. So Amuro, Kamille, Akira, Shinn, etc.

It seems every first time you do a Front mission it's a special version with different plot, and after the first clear a front immediately respawns with the repeated plot variation which is instead the one with a "respawn count"
You can actually see which fronts you have completed in the mission chart -> list tab. They have a checkmark near their name if you played them before. Or at least if you have completed the current version since they evntually swap enemy type in the later chapters

Relic and DLC missions do both count, the timer is just long enough that it takes a while in the early chapters. If my count's right, after clearing nine stages after a Front, the Front will respawn. In the early chapters this means they respawn only after a while, but in Chapter 5 it means if you clear every Front then they'll start respawning after two non-Fronts, in the order that you first cleared them, and then in Chapter 6 they'll start respawning after every single non-Front.

Depends on how they go about it, in Arc the clones pretty much act like they're continuations of the originals.

In the mobile games, the Noir team had the memories of the originals too, like knowing Go and his team even before meeting them, although since they were fighting alongside the originals imposter syndrome was more of a thing. Here, it'd be only an issue for Hayato though, since Ryoma "disappeared" and Musashi is dead.

I'm on Chapter 6, and I gotta say I like the original story in this game way more than the one in 30. The story feels like it flows much better, not keeping everything a secret and then just dumping the whole plot on you at once. There's a reveal at the end of every chapter, and even some main stages actually feature into the plot. I was surprised when one of the Mycenae generals revived one of the OG enemies, and this happens in a pretty nondescript stage - it doesn't seem important at first. All in all, it's a great improvement over 30's storytelling.

Also, you probably know this already, but most of the Earth-centric series tie into Godzilla at some point.

Combattler is great by default because it's a super robot in Y. You also might be kneecapping yourself a bit because Hyoma adds kills to make it easier to get Raideen's God Voice. Red 5 is also really solid and feels like it has the most consistent crits in the game, alongside ranged damage reduction and a multiplier with its custom bonus. Izuru also gets Zeal down the line.
You can continue to ignore Blue 1 and Gold 4.

I think Ciela is the only main pilot in the entire game with Bless, but then I think there are at least 3 or 4 main pilots who get Wish, so you're not hamstrung by subpilots as badly as you were in UX. That said, they really need to make an interface patch for this game so that you can see an enemy's credit value, because it feels like the Windermere Homo Squad are worth differing amounts of money every time you fight them.

Are there any animations you never get tired of looking at? I always sit through Burning Finger, God Bird Change and Thunder Bomber so far. I really love them.

I think the main problem with that is that you usually only deploy 3 ships max most of the time, and one of them has to be the A Advent. Compared to Purple 2, 1 slot out of 15-30 isn't as much of a commitment, and you can slap a part that gives her commander to stack with her CUB, extra arms (since that doesn't affect combos), the aforementioned combo, and Wish.

Well you need to remember that Zeta was pretty early into the brands life. This is kind of one of the most interesting things about earlier installments of stuff. The shtick has been less defined so they're not so concerned with sticking to routine. It was only later when the Char "brand" really got exaggerated and frankly I don't think I'd genuinely call any of them, outside Zechs because obviously, a true Char. Well maybe Mask. Well just finished chapter 3, been liking the story a lot so far, Shinn and Domon interactions being great, Gauma trying to compete with all the other teams, Hyoma becomng a Walkure fan, hell the villains alliance really feels well done this time, especially with all the stages they had on where they jumped your ass before the reveal of the og enemy, really makes me feel the stakes rising on difficulty, not helped that the only independant factions by this point are the andromeda country, the kaiju club and the wulgaru and even then all 3 would rather mug you first than fight the one jumping you in the middle of battle.
