Mobile games are designed to be slow burns that take a while for anything to happen.
UC Engage isn't any different but they got the advantage in lasting for 5 years (2+ years for global version) now to add all sorts of content to play through.

Yeah, exactly, every new one I played let me find some new units I'd not known about from spinoffs and such. Even Eternal's done that with stuff like the Chobham Armor Gp01, the Red Warrior, etc.

It's why I usually look for if there's a new SSR in the gacha banners besides the URs because that's where the weird off-shoot/MSV stuff ends up like Heavy Gundam did. I just wish we could get more of those as well, but there's not much of a way to make an event out of that stuff to add more content at once.

IBO is the one with some rough patches of animation. Like QUALITY Atra or that gif of Barbatos fighting in space where the animator was clearly dragging a still across a background. IBO wasn't a bad-looking show overall, which I think made its occasional dip in quality in that first season really noticeable

You can tell they had high hopes for it. I think if they'd tinkered with the writing side a little more, AGE would be much more fondly remembered. It's really only that third arc that doesn't work, and that's because they spent so long painting the Vagans as monsters that it feels too little, too late when Kio goes on the propaganda tour with Ezelcant and the sick girl. And the somewhat odd tone at times.

One thing that impressed me was that despite the AGE Gundams' Wear-swapping gimmick, there's like no stock footage of all the combining and transforming sequences. The only stock footage that gets reused a lot is the AGE-FX making all of the C-Funnels zip around.

Kind of a shame it fizzled out. I think the model kits in particular are really good.
