From personal experience, Gigantor fans (and I mean those who actually like it and can name all the characters etc) keep very much to themselves.

A lot of people that whine about cel animation not being standard anymore have never seen a black and white anime. Like even for them it's too archaic and obsolete.

I also do but i'm pretty sure it is stuck in copyright limbo now that Fred Ladd died as i'm fairly certain he still held the rights to his dying breath as the official website gigantor.org said he held the copyright even after he died.

B&W is a big pleb-filter just in general, not only with anime fans but for all TV and movies. Although with anime in particular a big part of it is just the lack of availability in English. Really, how many B&W TV anime series are actually fully (or even just majority) subbed? Skaro Hunting Soc and Hokuto no Gun have been plowing through a few shows, but for the most part the shows lucky enough to get any translations just get a couple of random episodes
