Guy's return in 30 was genuinely one of the most hype moments too, they really built up both how much various characters missed him and how thrilled they were to have him back.

I recall from a Dunbine watch thread that people said Todd is the "Jerid-type" character done right. There's a stretch of 5~6 episodes on the show where he doesn't meet Show at all (Show is in Europe and Drake is in America), and Drake mentions Todd actually managed to pull quite a lot of victories. Sistis could be a special case if we get more DD event units in the future, and she could be playable as a wake-up call for players who either haven't played the game, or never bothered checking spoilers. And by "special case,' I mean unplayable final bosses in their home games, but are playable in crossovers. They don't even have to use their final boss machines unless necessary.

Many srw worlds have similar circumstances as to how ssss world is made, I think that's why they just didn't address it in y.
Also nobody really knows how our universe is made either, so I dunno why some people are so averse whenever a story says the world is artificially made, that's the world the characters live in regardless.

I think the problem with Buddy Complex was it just didn't fit in X's setting at all. X's plot was clearly written with Wataru in mind and it's clear that the other series, especially the other debuts, didn't get this amount of attention.
