The design itself I find even cooler than Zeztz's, the way the silver "Y" on his face segments his eyes makes it look like he has 4 eyes, giving it a slightly more monster-like feel. But the suit has the same issue as Zeztz's due to being mostly fabric with next to no hard armor pieces, that wrinkly tinfoil-like material being so abundant in the suit just looks bad.

This sort of resolution actually feels kind of "right" whereas how they decided to end W felt much too forced that we pretty much all agree at that the penultimate episode is the real finale. It's up to each producer and writer to plan how they're going to tell a full story within the 50~ episodes their show is set to have.

Yeah, this is something people don't seem to realize. "Metal Hero" as a brand didn't even exist until Metal Heroes themselves were almost dead. The Faiz novel basically says that the next Faiz would be Yuka and Keitaro's hybrid kid (who's possibly also an agito). If you squint alittle bit, he basically repackaged the idea in a very general way with Kiva plus a huge dose of Den-o-isms.

This one is definitely new, the only implication of a dark Rider we had was the metion that there will be a Dark Zeztz but I'm not sure if they actually hinted at it or were just commenting about the Darkness sound in the Zeztz Driver. Do note that the main themes in a given show aren't chosen by the main writer per se.
I think some writers can deal with some themes and ideas better than others, look no further than manga, anime, movies, etc. Some creators can tell better stories around theme A than theme B.
Like how Inoue was fun with Faiz but Kiva delved too much into romance shenanigans.

That is to say, the way I see Zeztz strucutred so far there's none of the potentially controversial stuff that was apparent from ep1 in both Zero-One and Geats (like humagears and the complicated DGP battle royale system).
I would say keep an eye open and maybe ask again a few months from now.

Only 2 episodes have released so far, they were really great but it's hard to judge how the show will be later on because these first 3 episodes were filmed as a pilot, from episode 4 onward will be the show proper with an episodic format then according to the producer the second half will be more serialized.
The show seems promising so far because the producer seemingly wants to emulate early Heisei and also bring back bike action scenes, some of the choices made for this season should also mitigate somewhat the usual issues the main writer Takahashi has. The show is also going for a more "mature" feel like Build due to this being the first season to release overseas, since most of the already established western fanbase are adults which at least personally I prefer the show going with this direction. But like I said it's really hard to judge the show at the moment since we still haven't seen how the main dynamics are going to be executed, we won't know how most of the show will be until episode 4 releases so I'd say ask the question again once episode 6 airs.

Takahashi had left an idea for a Kamen Rider that uses the powers of dream to fight, both Yanaka and Shirakura liked the concept so they picked it as a setting and Takahashi himself as the writer. Then Yanaka added the spy theme and how to handle the dream setting, it's weird because most of the interviews act as if most of the setting ideas were Yanaka's which makes me question just how much of Takahashi's original idea was kept. Minato is handling most of the visuals and action of the show, he's apparently really involved with the fashion designer of the show to design how everyone is going to dress up and also decided how they would handle the bike fight scenes.
I forget if they specified which of the 3 producers hired Kami and who's the most involved out of the 3 when it comes to designing toys/forms, from my understanding Yanaka decided that Zeztz should look like Ichigo, use 4 forms reminiscent of Kuuga/Den-O and for the bike to become a robot, then plex decided on the torso belt idea and Kami decided that the suit would glow, but the toyline feels so reminiscent of Gotchard that I assume Minato did the rest. I also saw someone mention that apparently the Capsepms are also supposed to be film reels on top of gashsapon balls but I never saw if that was actually stated on an interview or blog.

Left is Shinkocchou Seihou and right is a modern Rider Figuarts. Shinkocchou Seihou keeps the original scale and size of 14.5cm while modern Rider Figuarts are 15cm and above whenever possible so waiting for a Shinkocchou Seihou Zeztz in theory would make him smaller than the normal Figuarts version.

To be honest, the size increase just feels right for them. Especially when most figures from brands like Bandai and Good Smile are getting size creeped. Kamen Rider Figuarts at 15cm feel like the perfect balance where they're neither manlets nor towering over others. I don't mind the old scale but knowing how the modern Rider Figuarts scale I prefer the newer scale.
I hope that whenever Bandai gets around to making Shinkocchou Seihou's of Reiwa Riders that they stick to the new 15cm scale. At worst it'll be consistent, all Heisei Riders are in the old 14.5cm scale and the Reiwa Riders in the 15cm scale.

If you want to learn about Kamen Rider history watch the first one from 1971, you don't need to treat like a normal show and bingewatch, it's very episodic so it's ok to watch it between episodes of another show.
It also would help you to understand some bits of the Shin movie.

If by Shin you're referring to the 90s film Shin Prologue then that movie is really bad and only remembered for the henshin sequence, the co-writer of the movie quit writing after that and became an actor instead. But if you are referring to the one that released in the 20s made by Anno then yeah that's pretty great, that said they later released an edited version that rearranges the movie into a mini-series with some new scenes which is generally considered to be better than the original movie version.

Well I'm not done with Zero-One quite yet (Ark just showed up, I cannot imagine this saving the show or anything going forward saving it).
My question is how the fuck does this show escape being lumped together with Ghost and Wizard? This show feels like literally nothing but mistakes and I can confidently say almost none of it is done right. The ONLY thing it has going for it is it has very good sakuga and cool suits but holy fuck those cannot carry a show.
I don't think I even like any character as a character except for Fuwa, and they've been doing everything in their power to fuck him up. Aruto is fine I guess but he's been pissing me off for doing literally nothing the entire show.
Who the fuck decided every single rider in the show except for Fuwa should be a villain? Really boring ones at that. I'm also 100% including Yua in this too, she might not be a villain exactly but she has literally done nothing but help the villains this ENTIRE fucking show without asking why they're doing these things or what their goal is even once. I've never seen a character with less autonomy in one of these shows.
I feel like if I was watching this weekly while it aired I would have had to drop it which is crazy, I cannot imagine sitting through 20 weeks of the exact same plot every single episode (Gai decides to be an asshole) without going insane. This show somehow has zero stakes (even after Gai takes over and supposedly destroys every Humagear they're still around and we get episodes that are literally just Q1 plots) but also has ridiculously high stakes (batshit insane AI wants to kill all of humans, also Gai taught it this and told everyone that but nobody cared)

I've seen almost every season before Reiwa (no Skyrider or Super-1 but I'll get around to them).
I have seen Gotchard and Gavv though, I'll continue with Reiwa since ultimately I love Kamen Rider but I'm pretty nervous now for Geats especially, Revice it seems like nobody has ever spoken positively about that show so I know what I'm getting into, but I've heard people speak positively about Zero-One and Geats which has given me trust issues now.
What's weird too is I love Ex-Aid a lot, so I don't think it's exactly a Takahashi issue but clearly he fucked up royally with Zero-One

Honestly sounds like you'll probably like Saber. From what I've seen and speaking from personal experience, people who like Saber tend to dislike Zero-One and viceversa, and some of that probably has to do with the fact that they're kind of polar opposites, Saber's fantasy theme was even specifically chosen to contrast with Zero-One's sci-fi. It's certainly a step up from Ghost at the very least.

Saber has bunch of side content though, and although most of it isn't really necessary to appreciate the TV show on its own, all of it is good imo and it does improve the series' overall experience. If you want a list of the content and it's watching order, I can provide one, just tell me.

There's a Kamen Rider Buster manga, which I recommend reading between episodes 22 and 24. There's also the HBV which should be watched somewhere between episodes 35 and 39, it's an inconsequential joke special like all HBVs, but I especially recommend it if you're fond of a certain beloved character that becomes active in Q2.

Girls Remix, the final episode of Outsiders, and Geats Extra: Tycoon do feature one or two Saber characters, but they're not the focus of said specials so you can watch those whenever you feel like the further you get into Reiwa Rider.

There's also a multi-part piece of Twitter side content, which has made at least one anon here even more endeared on a certain character, but it's spoilery to tell you its context, so click on this watching guide for it only after you've reached episode 20:

I know it's a lot, but the only pieces of side content I think are a must watch are the Swordsmen Chronicles/Retsudens and maybe Sword of Logos Saga. But like I said, the rest is also good and I believe it enhances Saber's overall experience.

I'm almost tempted to watch this most live-action adaptations of manga are usually bad. Only ones that come to mind as being good are Aoi Honoo, Gintama, Grandblue, French City Hunter, Ruroni Kenshi, The Fable, Cromartie, Riki-Oh, Rapeman, Head-cho, Filipino Voltes V, Blue Spring, Cells at Work and kinda that AU movie of Bungo Stray Dogs but goddamn them keeping the stageplay costumes was just extremely distracting in that movie. Well yeah, the show being a mediocre season just before Sentai's anniverary, having mecha that were bricks with stability issues while having a spinning gimmick similar to Yokai Watch and being a show about fighting Yokais while Yokai Watch was at the peak of its popularity pretty much fucked Sentai over, Ninninger couldn't have released at a worse possible time.
