Honestly don't know what to expect, besides keeping them moderate. It's great that they're aiming for a more serious tone, but at the same time I'm not a fan of the tone and aesthetic they're aiming for. It's that same kind of issue I had with the last few games, where they're trying so hard to corner the YA/older audience instead of letting it come naturally as a result of the story.

It has some more QoL stuff like all digimon in the bank earning XP, autorecover HP and SP just by standing still for a few seconds etc, but unfortunately the game went back to the DS Story game system of being able to max out all stats on every mon and all the passives are based on personality type rather than actual mon being used, so every mon is just a homogenized blob of shit and there's no actual team building or reason to play the game more than once.

The production values are obviously higher, but if you care more about gameplay than environments CS is still better

That said, the show may grow on me, but I'm really not a fan of the series aping elements from "dark shounen" series that have become popular lately. Maybe the suits are fine with the anime focusing indirectly promoting the games and other seasons with the only merch that is directly tied to the anime being stuff they can easily mass produce like shirts or acrylics. The Sapotama seemed bizarrely untoyetic, and it not being meant to sell a toy in the first place explains why. They'll probably have figures down the line, and I'm pretty sure a cardset was already mentioned, but it's so weird to have a season that isn't really a toy commercial. I guess there's technically Young Hunters, but that still obviously shilled the toys from the first two seasons of Xros Wars.

Anons, I come to you with a dumb question.
After playing through Time Stranger and seeing how Chronomon got put in the time out corner by Homeostasis without much of a fight, I started wondering,
Is there any single Digimon (X-Antibody or not) that could actually pose a threat to Homeostasis? Or something that would need the Olympos and Royal Knights collectively to get involved?

Beatbreak might as well just silently build up Shambala's world building while not completely involving that world in the first place, but at the same time, could result in a new game that does focus on Shambala after following through stories of the Royal Knights and Olympos XII in the console Digimon Story games, though I don't think the Shambala focus should be another Story game.
