Most of you just weren't raised correctly. For a plethora of reasons this civilization is currently very inefficiently situated to fully utilize each soul. But it is very efficiently situated to capitalistically meat grind each soul as a biorobot/fleshslave. The era before the space expansion industry fully establishes seems hardest. Everything is being prepped for spread to distant solar systems, meaning there will be a constant moral conundrum of making the hard choice of choosing to invest energy in people, or in accelerating that industrial advancement. The key is balancing both and seeing the patterns in which both are mutually beneficial and simultaneous so that they can increase hand in hand - an example would be forcing everyone to become an expert in the fields of engineering. If that seems naive or improbable to any of you, well, you're a part of the problem. Maybe 20 to 5% are wastes, largely because of inherited disease, but even that can be shrunk to almost nothing with genetic engineering and appropriate incentives.
I know you all like to joke that "those aren't invading migrant hordes!! those are doctors and lawyers!!" etc., and I get what you mean, but the truth is the proper infrastructure to FORCE each and every soul to become an engineer is hardly in place. BUT, if you can be FORCED to work minimum wage as a burger flipping biobot, you can be forced into a benevolent world spanning military industrial complex designed to turn even the stinkiest tard into a space faring engineer-warrior-philosopher. Many gifted beings are just far more comfortable enjoying the fruits of their natural genetic superiority/nepobabytism and are understandably apprehensive about teaching valued skills to their replacements. Too lazy or fearful to teach and transform everyone into a space marine. If every savant were all forced to teach every child they can, and each child fully receptive, the planet would entirely transform within just a couple years.
