I know absolutely nothing about the show other than the Rain-lookalike, but a friend did seem surprised when I mentioned I'd never seen it before.
They knew the baby was going to have powers thanks to both parents being espers.
The baby got kaiede out of being a sacrifice for brahman so it was already doing stuff before that point.
Now, why didnt the baby attempt to stop its mom from killing both its parents in the first place if it had the ability to influence and control people is a real question.
