MG leo. I broke one of the vernier mounts ages ago and repairs made it floppy, At the time there was a shop that was selling the tallgeese MG for cheap so I picked up a replacement.

Cut like 5mm out of the shin and want to keep the armour removable and cut out the chest intake vent to replace with styrene sheet. Not sure what my plan is yet for the kneepads (shouldn't be too hard) and head

Neo Bird is more of a Ver Ka thing. It doesn't have that in most of its incarnation.

So I built the skeleton, weathered it up real nice. Now I'm building the body and just on a whim put an LED in the mouth, figured I'd put a touch sensor to turn it on. Found a place it'll work through the plastic so it'll be invisible.

On the one hand, I am disappointed it is not the Nu Gundam MP and it's another Astray Gundam. On the other hand the old Astray is getting kind of outdated now. Even with topcoat or floor polish the waist joint on that kit will be loose no matter what and slapping any backpack will make it lean back. Not to mention the hands can't hold the weapons well. I am looking forward to this mainly for the variations, I hope we get Lord Astray Omega and Gold Frame Amatsu Mina finally in MG.

The only reason the GM costs that little is because it's literally an old 2001 mold and they refuse to design a HGUC GM Revive. And for the most part that's fine since GMs are used mostly for army building, s the low price point more than makes up for the old design.

The HGUC Ball comes with not only extras for the cannon, but also small display stands. Getting two for the price of a more modern HG kit is still a good deal.

Finished the assembly of the Unicorn with the metal parts.
This setup is a heavy fucker at 657 grams. I have one of the newer PS Action Base 1s and it is creaking. I might have to go dig out one of my older ABS ones for this as I'm pretty sure ABS is stronger in this scenario.
I'm not sure the metal frame actually is helping much. The right arm is still pulled down by gravity and I had to very particularly balance it for this picture. The leg parts actually prevented me from attaching the leg grenades as they are built for the base/Banshee/Phenex also. The kit is very bottom heavy and I'm pretty sure with the booster stand I could make this stand on the ground. I was hoping that I'd be able to pull one of the SEED poses, but that isn't happening. I think any of the additional tightness is outweighed by the weight of the metal. Maybe if all the third party parts were in the alternate plastic that came with the kit it could be more balanced.
Will eventually decal and top coat this, but I really need to take a break from this. Glad I chose not to paint this as I would be feeling more annoyed with the effort this took for the result. Will likely just get a normal Unicorn to paint up (maybe the new MGEX knockoff or the real thing).

Also one other thing I noticed is they flipped grays on the Unicorn at some point between the OVA and the FA or in the reprints.
My old ~2012 Unicorn has dark gray for its frame, with a lighter gray for the bazooka (the gattlings were from some magazine). In the FA the frame gray is being used for all the weapons, and the weapon gray for the frame (can only see it on the hands here since it was replaced with metal).

Both the Victorys are pretty much given the actual kits. You can't twist the waists at all, which pretty much just leaves aiming a bit off to the side as the only thing you can do besides A posing or Katoki box art.

Built the Moon Gundam as my 4th kit last night
Was a pretty cool build with having a lot of inner frame compared to my previous builds (GFred, Calibarn, Lfrith Jiu), made me look forward to doing the RX-78-02 2.0 this week even more!

Its booth is the largest there, too. These display booths are not free. The main criticism here is that the kit just doesn't deserve it for a straight recolor. I've had to spend way too much time working on damaged v-fins and the easiest way is to simply clip the top chunk of it off with good nippers then either knife or sand the rest
Use normal low grit sandpaper instead of a glass file or anything because you'll round the hard angles that most v-fins have and it's very noticeable
