I gotta be honest, I love the idea that this big blobby machine is actually an incredibly powerful, energetic mobile suit with ridiculous speed. It looks very different from most other designs in the show and it sells, to me, the idea that The O is less a precise tactical machine and more of a personal chariot for an insanely egotistical man who charges into battle himself even though he really oughtn't.

My thoughts as well. It's all haha fat suit jokes until you play one of the video games that have it and witness a nimble pacman with multiple swords chasing after you at super high speeds.

The biggest issue i see is that the Gundam version's pauldrons are to big for the O version's pauldrons to fit over. You can see it in your overlay where the g-pauldron would be both under the torso armor and sticking through both the sode and upper pauldron of the O's.
>>23581812 >I think that's still inside the back pauldron. It's not a backpack, it's directly on the shoulder line.
I saw that as well at first glance and it still didn't make sense to me the gundam pauldrons just extend to far to properly fit and mount the O pauldrons on them.
>As for the part sticking to the chest, that'd be just under the chest armor.
The problem is that if it actually was that way it would prevent shoulder rotation. In Gundam designs the pauldron rotates with the arm rather than being directly attached to the torso. The O style armor shouldn't change where the articulation needs to be.

I think it's because they didn't emphasize it's capacity for melee combat enough or it was a mistake to do so. You had the Zeong and Qubeley earlier showing how dangerous it is to go against someone that can shoot from any angle any time. I think if it had an I-field or some hyper beam resistant armor to force you into cqc where it could chop you up by quad-wielding it's beamsabers, it'd be a bit more intimidating. Or heck, make more use of it's extra arms by having them wield beam smg's or somthing.
>>23582005 >What a fat fucking fuck. >Discolored banana Ugly bastard. >Scirocco's mecha equivalent of of a fursona.
>One is a lean, mean and agile beauty with plenty of modern gizmos and novelties pushing it as a forerunner of the new era. The other is - as said before - a fat fucking fuck. Just a beam rifle and beam swords - four of them, yes, but the subarms are only there to enhance existing traits rather than introduce something truly new. >By the way, they both have a sharp chin.
>Zeta may be a hangar queen with its peaky performance and numerous moving parts, but The-O is just a selfish bitch.
Lmao, this is the most over the top, insane, funniest thing I've ever read about a mobile suit. Where is this from?
seeing it just makes me think of how bullshit broken it was in MSGO, and how it was the start of the decline >every match starts with 4+ Za-Os with two zillion health sprinting down the narrowest chokepoint at mach speed and mulching 10 default zakus per sword charge
im sure you could point to other aspects as being the breaking point but it was such a jump up from the previous meta
>>23584200 >>23584204
Now that design looks like it would have fit inside the O style armor. The shoulder even look like they were meant to mount the O's pauldrons on top.

Anime-wise, I like it because the idea of a super chunky boi with stupidly high speed and agility that has sub-arms which allow it to wield four beam sabers at once. I have a soft spot for huge chunky bois.
Gunpla-wise, I absolutely despise how poorly designed the MG kit is, and I won't forgive Bandai until they give us a proper MG 2.0 that doesn't cost an arm and a leg for 2005 quality Gunpla, or at the very least a HG Revive.
>>23581738 >the V-Fin really needs to be contracted somehow though.
It folds. >>23581796
That's definitely the biggest issue, you can compare the shot where it purges the armor and even then it doesn't look right. They don't fold or collapse or anything. They just somehow fit despite not.
>>23586238 >Athrun would steamroll every faggot in UC
Thanks for outing yourself as a definitive midwit, faggot.
You got that backwards. Fight goes like this: >Scirocco would try to read Athrun's mind. >Athrun would show him Cagalli's flat-as-fuck tits. >Scirocco, being a total perv and pimp and all, would then grin, ask if that's a boy the same way Kamille is a girl's name, and then show Athrun some real hardcore stuff >Athrun's autist mind is blown to smithereens.
It makes me think they should make a 1/200 line again so that big boys can be made in a more reasonable manner. I'll take the new kondo plastic line though.
>>23587477
the rifle is the size of a beam bazooka in a regular MS hands, and scirocco didn't really have any trouble fighting haman or kamille
scirocco's also the type to leave most of the combat to his personal henchwomen, but he'll sortie to rep the lead position and trade some mystical fisticuffs with haman if need be
>>23587433
The problem with putting coordinator characters against newtype characters is that newtypes are capable of psychic space magic bullshit and coordinators aren't. I'm pretty sure most UC newtypes could steam roll most SEED coordinators.
>>23587477
That's the appeal. After all the transforming suits and psycho gundams and funnels you're expecting some real final nuts boss with the experimental doodads and instead he's just doing fat boy summer with really good stats. I do also really like the messala though.
>>23587508
Rhubarb and custard. I actually really dig the Sazabi part, touches of nightingale in it and putting the giant shoulders on their own separate limb is a huge improvement in my books.
>>23581596
This manga was insanely bad. The only good thing was the bootleg GP03 made out of cobbled together Gundam parts piloted by UC oldtype Mu La Flaga actually making Scirocco II shit his pants and his ideas of newtype superiority.
>>23587477 >>23587866
The whole body is a giant shield with thrusters everywhere. Scirocco's skills are really on display with The-O: its ability to thrust, move wildly with efficient output, and use a big cannon.
>>23581412 (OP)
chonk
No gimmicks (I don't count subarms as a gimmick, it's just extra weapons like mounting shoulder cannons or whatnot), just massive specs and firepower.
>>23592567
Walpurgis had some cool ideas buried under mountains of cliches and pacing issues. imo its greatest strength (besides its MS designs) was showing how easily Scirocco could've fucked up the Earthsphere if he won.
