Moved to DLC is possible since they implemented higher difficulties with DLC back in 30. It's very likely we'll see level caps raised too since by end-game would be near the cap and even if it's just the 32 DLC stages they've promited and there's no actual Expansion that would be more than enough to get stuck at the cap.

Been around long enough to know Terrada said shows like Vifam would be hard to include in SRW since they couldn't figure out how to make it fit in with the other casts without breaking the story. And I didn't even say they can't or won't, it's probably a lot easier to fit in Gamera SRW than Vifam, I just think they would need to come up with something. Godzilla is an easy fit since he just shows up as a boss battle. Gridman is an easy fit, since he just goes back into Junk, and supporting cast just hang around the ship. And yes I realize it just comes down to licensing deals, and they can ass pull anything to make it fit. I still just don't see Gamera being penned up in the hangar, just waiting for a battle to break out. Maybe whatever Brave series robots are included in that game can keep him company.

The solution I've just come up with would be to pair them with Banjo, who canonically runs an orphanage as part of his "friend to all children" image. Say he stumbled into the Vifam crew while roaming the stars post-plot, and he's letting them continue crewing the Janus because he likes them and it's too impractical to find their families. Also maybe make Borgi his creation that he copied from Mother to help them manage the ship.

The issue is that the Vifam kids aren't special newtypes or anything like that, nor are their robots super special either. They're good for the setting, but that's it. There's no reason they have to be fighting if you have a bunch of people from other shows around.

It's a Sunrise show too, so licensing was never the issue. They just didn't want to create that scenario in the first place.

I did a writeup on the Sunrise Eiyuutan games a few years ago here on /m/. I even ripped some of the crossover CGs.
Sunrise World War is the weirdest one of the bunch. It's like this: in the past two games, SE1 and SE2, there is a Story Mode and a Eiyuutan Mode. The Story Mode is where most of the main story happens, and can be cleared in 20 hours (SE1) or 10 (SE2). After clearing the story, you can play Eiyuutan Mode, where you can use the rest of the cast that wasn't available in the story. In a way, it's like you're hunting for the missing characters. It also gives you a definitive ending, although the story fights happen way less often than in Story Mode. It's like you're just moping up stragglers and preparing for a final battle.

In SE1, once you defeat Mediator, the final boss in Story Mode, you'll receive a message from Eiji (Layzner) and Eiyuutan Mode starts. That's where the Dougram, L-Gaim, Vifam and other characters come from. I don't recall most of SE2.

Anyway, in Sunrise World War, it's like 10% of the cast actually features in the game, and the other 90% only in Mission mode, which takes the place of Eiyuutan Mode. However, it's noted pretty clearly in-game that the missions are only simulations, while past Eiyuutan Modes were a soft continuation of sorts.

VIFAM also features in Battle of Sunrise.

There's also Sunrise Eiyuutan 3, but that one has almost nothing to do with the first 3 games. There are way less series and crossover events, and the gameplay loop is completely different. It's more of a simulation game than a RPG.

Beside this obviously being a single player game, it's not as long as 30 was (which is a positive on Y favor), so even for a relatively long RPG, one month is already plenty for day one buyers to complete it, Bamco is taking it's sweet time with the release of the DLC for some reason, and the game is IN ENGLISH, so there is no mystery to figure out behind japanese moon runes, anons here even use the PC port coding to look for what secrets characters were really available.

Also despite it's current wide availability, the SRW series still occupies a niche that doesn't get much attention from the usual 'people' that harps about a game forever, or at least wish they could.

Y refining many of the ideas of 30 is honestly a huge positive for me, because it means the devs were actually willing to listen to criticism without tossing it out entirely. There's still some room for improvement, I feel, but it's enough of a step in the right direction that I'm willing to see things like the free mission format return in the next game to see how they try to improve it. Still would like to see a new game with the route system return, of course, but it's not a must for me.

Because it's the only game out that has G-Witch plot in any capacity. Battle Alliance had no plot and G Gen Eternal will take a long time to do since it's a mobile game. My first exposure to SRW was watching the SRW OG OVA. I was completely lost, and thought it sucked, and had no idea was based on a game, and you had to have played the games for it to make any sense. I later bought the first OG1 on advance from Gamestop. First "real" SRW was the translated Rom of SRWJ. I did play K, and L without translations, I tried playing Z2 without translations, but couldn't do it. I also bought Lord of Elemental for PSP, but couldn't get through it. 30 is free roam and longer. X has more focus on Wataru like how V focused on Yamato.

X is closer to V sprite and structure-wise, although you go from the main story being built around Yamato, to it being built around the light hearted Wataru, so the atmosphere is very different at the start (although eventually things do become more serious).

30 was the first game trying a new "free flow" mission system, where you can choose the order you do missions and get characters, and it ended up very episodic due to that. Many stages are also primarily based on a single show with little crossover aside from the other characters dropping one liners. It also started pushing sprites based on 3d renders in a bigger way than previous games.

That said, if you're using the DLC, the series selection is huge. 30 also dumped SR points for some reason, but don't know if you care about that.
