I remember really despising this character back when I watched CG. I don't remember much as to why. I vaguely remember her threatening a terrorist attack and possibly idolizing Lelouch's princess sister?!

She homebrews a nuke to hold her own school hostage because she's so racist (that's how I remember it anyway it's been like a decade) which kinda sets the endgame going because then Schneizel immediately jumps to "MAD but it's one guy holding the world hostage"

To be fair to Nina, I'm pretty sure the show implies that she was assaulted by Elevens as a child. She was willing to get over it thanks to Euphy's encouragement, but we know how that worked out.

It's in one of the sound dramas, but you can tell Nina's so hated and disgusting that no one's wanted to touch that or her light novel game route where she can fall in love with the Eleven protag.

It seems like they intended her to be a "beware the quiet ones" and having a redemption arc, but the poor table and her being a crazy lesbian besides the racism were just one potent combo.
It's telling the compilation films removed the table and tried to make her growth feel more organic.

Her entire purpose in S1 is to build a bomb more or less. I think she would be more redeemable if they at least made her hotter in S2 but they didn't really do that. I actually entirely forgot what she even does in S2 other than work for the government
