The second episode has already aired, and Skeweds just released subtitles for the first episode. Feels a bit like I took a step back in time, honestly.

As for the first episode itself, the pacing seems a bit off and all the budget went to the toad but I liked it.

How big is Redman anyway? technically, he fights Kaiju, on planets where everything else is so big that they appear human-sized, which would probably make him Kaiju-sized too, which means he could basically stomp most Kaijin.
In any case, he would violently murder them, that's kinda his thing.

I think my problems with it stem from the fact that they're not exactly being subtle about the fact that it's a vehicle for EXILE's various tribes down to the opening and ending themes. It does also look cheap, but given that TV Asahi and Toei don't even want to spend money on their flagship tokusatsu shows anymore it's not exactly unexpected.

iirc there's supplementary material which says Redman is set on Earth but the show itself gives no context. I always assumed that the monsters were man-sized "kaijin" that just happened to be shaped like your typical Ultraman-style kaiju. My headcanon is that Redman takes place on an Earth where humanity is long since extinct and Redman is just murdering what are essentially wild mutant animals out of a twisted heroic programming.
