I binged the entirety of season one in less than a week and am now halfway through season 2. The personalities, the colors, the surprisingly good writing... it just roped me in and I think I can feel the obsession start to set in. Is it over for me? For me, it's quite the opposite. The first two seasons are not bad, but starting from the middle of the third season, I began to really enjoy it and ended up watching it until the end. But it's worth noting that I've been in the fandom for quite a while, but I didn't want to watch the series so I wouldn't be disappointed, as you said, because I really liked everything that was done in the fandom. S1-S3 is the golden age, with S3 being the black sheep of this era. Unbridled kino.
S4-S5 is the silver age. Still great, arguably more epic, but it doesn't have quite as much soul (snowpity) as the golden age.
S6-S7 is the bronze age. Still good, but starting to lose some steam here.
S8-S9 is the dark age. Bad episodes were few and far between up until this point, now they are frequent.
