If you look up to the top of this thread, this is the thread where the discussion happened. I took a peek in /jdb/ and saw five or so people who want the merge, and I saw myself and one other person not want the merge. Therefore, I'm assuming the merge should happen since more people want it than not.
I guess we could poll for it but that seems silly given if the schism was still a popular choice more people would've spoken up in favor of the division.
