I saw this image in one of the last /shy/ threads and wrote a short green about Anon helping Fluttershy during Winter Wrap Up. I wasn't happy with it, so I decided to rewrite it.

>After a few minutes of ringing his bell near the mouths of little burrows, Anon, the local human, notices that he's the only one making any noise right now.

>Fluttershy flinches just slightly as she's brought back to the present moment. "Oh, I better go." She brings the snail closer to her lips and lowers her voice. "It was nice talking with you again, Mr. Shelly. Goodbye now! So long!"
>She gently lowers the snail onto the grass below before trotting over to Anon.

>Her expression falls a little guilty, mixing with a touch of fondness. "I'm sorry, Anon, I've just been so busy catching up with all my friends again!"
Anon kneels down to her level and lets out a small sigh. His face relaxes. "That's alright, but you gotta remember that we're on a little bit of a time crunch this year." He leans in a little bit, raising a mildly stern eyebrow. "The other groups are waiting for us to finish our job so they can get theirs done on time too."
>Her ears droop down more as her eyes fall to the grass. "O-oh, o-okay."
Anon's face softens into a warm smile. "Hey, it's okay." He places a hand under her chin and lifts up. "They'll still be here when you get back." He leans in a little, both eyebrows raised. "The faster you wake them up, the sooner you can talk with all of them again, right?"
>Fluttershy lifts her chin up from Anon's hand at the sudden mental image of hosting a big tea party in her living room, populated with all those critters she's been itching to share recent news with all winter.
>Fluttershy looks back at Anon with renewed determination. "You're right. I'll go help the Snakes' family right now!"
Anon beams. "Thank you, Fluttershy. We'll get this done in no time, I promise."

>Anon places a hand on her shoulder, coaxing her to land to the ground again.
"You care about them. That's a good thing." Anon says, kneeling besides her as she lands. "Let's just try waking them up like you normally would. Gently." He smiles. "Like a bed time story, but in reverse."

Imma visit /shy/ more often. You guys have one of the few comfy threads on this board. Besides a few others, everything is cynical and mean spirited. How did it get like this? MLP is supposed to be about love, friendship, and overall goodness. Instead you find mostly the opposite. It seems the threads dedicated to particular ponies (/shy/, /moon/, /sun/, /aj/, etc.) follow this most closely.

I agree that industrial farming of animals is cruel and unethical.
On the other hand I don't agree on purely relying on alternatives as a solution.
Every species of animals hunt and consume meat for survival and keep natural harmony. Some species of animals (including humans) need meat in their diet.
The cruelty isn't in the fact that animals eat other animals but in the way in which the large human industrialization turned a noble cause into an unethical massacre.

I commissioned Cold Blooded Twilight for a comic with Fluttershy, which just got finished, and you guys could use a bump. I wrote a very short story based on a prompt for a monthly contest, and had it converted to a comic. The prompt was "A Window of Opportunity":

Fluttershy responded. “Hey, Pinkie. I’m glad to see you too.” Pinkie gasped. Fluttershy was wedged in a not-quite-open-enough window above the pie. “I, um, smelled the pie and, um, um, I’m sorry. Can you help? I’m stuck.”

“Not a problem, girl!” Pinkie hopped outside. The reason for Fluttershy’s less-than-lithe form hung down, pressed against the wall. She tiphooved on a crate. “Dang girl, you sure these ain’t twins?” Pinkie snickered, and couldn’t decide which twins she meant. She grabbed Fluttershy’s tail and yanked. “Wow, you’re stuck good!” She looked for a unicorn. “Hey, Rarity’s dad! Come help me get Fluttershy’s big butt out of here!” Everypony could hear, and see, this.

Fluttershy covered her face with her hooves, uselessly.
