Today I share yet another Kayou product; these blind box rubber figures. I bought this in hopes of pulling the rarest one, Celestia, which of course did not happen. Although apparently Dashie is 'rare' according to the chance list. I gotta say, I am disappointed in this product and regret buying it. There's too many variants of each mold, odd color choices like white, some don't stand on their own (Twilight) and you're going to pull dupes. Each figure comes with a little stamp showing you what the figure/pose is supposed to be if it was colored normally. Also, I could not figure out how to assemble the Dashie figure. The stamps are kinda neat if you put them on a cork board and the packaging is pretty at least.

The matte and glitter ones are like hard plastic with a slight rubber texture. Not really like an eraser. Chrysalis however is just like those frog toys, not the same material as the others.

Happy New Year, /merch/! I am very timely in posting this. Anyway, this is a pretty cool special set of those Chinese pony cards I enjoy collecting. Quite nice packaging. Interesting choice with the chibi pony art.

Opening reveals the first layer of items, which includes a couple card packs and two random button pins that look like cookies. I already opened this before taking pictures so the cards are already sleeved. I was very lucky with my pulls considering you're not guaranteed to get your favorite pony. I managed to get the Fluttershy pin yay

And here are the cards I pulled from this set. I got 2/3 of the Fluttershy cards. I was really hoping my hot springs card would be Fluttershy but nope, Twi. The rng of getting a full set of the hot springs cards is crazy because you only get one card per box and this product wasn't cheap. I am not crazy enough to collect every Kayou pony card; only Fluttershy because she is best pony. It's annoying you only get 5 of the firework cards and not a full set of the mane 6. So cruel.

Lastly, these two items are under the first layer of stuff. A package of red envelopes with ponies on them and a Hearths Warming themed acrylic standee. Again, super lucky to pull the one I wanted because you could get any of the mane 6. I'll be displaying it as a decoration come the holiday season. Overall a good product I'd say but not one I'd buy more than once.

Got my 4cc swag awhile ago, too. Everything is very nice, however, my magnet is all scuffed up and has specks of dirt on it. Hard to see in the picture. Not a big problem since it is too big to go where I was going to display and in its new spot, can't see the damage.

Yeah, the 2012 coin had a horse pussy at the bottom of one side. I believe there are talks about someone making an Aryanne coin (still in the planning stages), but as far as I know there isn't a new anniversary coin being made. The last /mlp/-related coin that I know of was Lunar making a batch of Verity coins earlier this year (and there's a few left, see >>42340038 and the link there).

I've ordered like 7 copies of the MLP Peryton Panic book for my collection and unironically each time there's been some issue that's made it not fit right.

Like 4 of them had cover damage despite being listed as new. Two or three didn't have a glossy cover which means it doesn't match the rest of the books in the collection that do have a glossy cover. Then another one or two came book damaged like being bent because they ship things overseas in nothing but a jiffy bag.

It's later season styled eyes where the pupils got really small and creepy looking because the animators animated it be more human-like expressions instead of the early seasons with the really big pupils
The result is the ponies look like they're creeped out or scared the entire time which sticks out a lot because in the early seasons the pupils would get smaller when the ponies got creeped out or scared instead of it being the default state

Sunburst I could see doing kinda average. Cheese, no clue, maybe could be one to do poorly, but might also sell well with Weird Al fans.

Huh, there's a reveal of MLP nendoroids as seen at comic con. This and things like Funism ponies and the bishoujo seems like Hasbro is upping the marketing, at least with third parties.

Ideally i wanted to get the colors all correct but the lens i'm using is too small and the bigger lens i have is 3x the size and i can't find ANY colors with it in testing (only silver/grays) and will take a shit ton of time to dial in, of which i don't have a lot of right now. (I did order an in between size to test with after Mare Fair)
I had a price point in mind if i were able to get the colors accurate but i'm just not able to with this lens so I'm not sure what to price these as.

as someone afflicted with the knifetism i'd prefer if it was one from the regular spyderco lineup, like its equivalent the Endura or something else available with stainless scales. Delica, possibly Dragonfly or Cricket. The smaller size might help not spook some people.
Just feels more like a true high-value collector's item to me when it's made in japan or america instead of china.
As an alternative top offer from other brands there's the Case Executive (USA) and the all-stainless CRKT Pilar (CN), (and stainless-handled higonokamis from japan, but their handles are very slim in shape which might not be ideal). The shape of these is also perhaps less polarizing than spyderco's more unconventional design. And they're cheaper in the acquisition.
In any case adding like 50-70 bucks to the inital price of the item seems reasonable to me. but I don't know how much time is put into each so I cant really judge if that's a fair pay for your work, and what people are willing to pay. IIRC the one on your site was $250 and i feel that's a bit too high, especially since it's one of the Byrd line. I mean, add another hundred bucks and you can buy a Santa Fe Stoneworks spyderco, and those guys are on a WHOLE nother level.
