Rarity claims that she wants to get married and find her "true love." She apparently wants this so badly that she's even willing to push everybody out of the way during the bouquet toss at Cadence's wedding (not very generous of the "Element of Generosity"). But instead of looking for a good partner, one that would actually treat her well and love her for who she is, she only goes after the highest status stallions that she deems most attractive (Prince Blueblood, Trenderhoof). And no, this isn't because she thinks that they are actually good ponies or that they would actually get along well. In fact, she doesn't actually know anything about them. She is simply going after looks and status because she is a massive gold digging WHORE. She is such a gold digging whore, in fact, that she's willing to change literally everything about herself, including revamping her entire personality, just so she can have a shot with a high status pony who isn't even interested in her. And the worst part of this all is that the show expects us to feel bad for her. We're supposed to feel sorry for her because she can't find her "true love." Well maybe if she wasn't such a gold digging WHORE who only cares about looks and status when looking for a partner, she could actually find her true love, or at the very least we would actually feel bad for her when things don’t work out. Unfortunately, Rarity is a true whore at heart, and no matter how many times she makes the same mistake over and over again, she will never truly learn. She is an image obsessed, social status climbing WHORE who thinks that she is better than everybody else. She thinks that regular good hearted everyday ponies are below her. A whore like her only deserves high status, rich ponies, after all. It's truly sad to see, but once a whore always a whore, and that certainly stands true for someone like Rarity.

This alone should open anybody's eyes up to the true gold-digging whore that is Rarity, further solidifying her status as the objective worst of the Mane 6. And I didn't even have to mention all of the times that she throws away all of her little self respect and acts like a little slut, using her sex appeal on random stallions to get them to give and do things for her (again, not very generous). Unfortunately, Rarifags are too mentally retarded to see anything wrong with their waifu, instead choosing to live in their own imaginary retard land where Rarity is perfect and can do no wrong. And if you bring up any valid criticisms they will send the "average Rarity hater mindset" picture (probably already in the replies) instead of coming up with an actual counterargument.

Starlight actually gets called out and has to apologize when she fucks up. Rarity on the other hand, never has to apologize when she fucks up. Instead, the writers treat her fuck ups as if she was in the right the whole time and that everybody else was wrong all along. For example, that time she was selling princess dresses and decided that it would be a good idea to make major changes to the outfit that the customer never asked for, and then when the customer didn’t like the changes, the writers expected us to think that they were in the wrong and expected us to feel sorry rarity. The difference is that Starlight actually has to learn lessons, even if she has to learn the same lesson multiple times to fully get it, where Rarity never learns anything and is just treated as always being right, or that her flaws aren’t actually flaws but just silly little quirks that make her who she is.

Like that one episode where she literally disregards her friend's dress/birthday for a high-society party, and when her plan to ditch the party falls apart and Twilight finds the dress that she completely disregarded, the writers make twilight actually likes the shitty dress, instead of having rarity actually learn her lesson and realize that friends are more important than status and image Rarity gets away with being a bad friend. And don’t even say she learns her lesson at the end of the episode, because she never actually has to ditch her unhealthy obsession with status and image or realize that her friends are more important. That's kinda how the episode already goes, frankly. Applejack doesn't say anything any worse than what Rarity does. I fail to see how AJ calmly saying a dress is too long and will get dirty from dragging the ground is somehow more wrong and uncouth than Rarity telling a pony she shouldn't wear a hat because the brim hangs too low and will obstruct her vision. Honest Apple is built around a double standard where AJ is condemned for doing what Rarity does all the time.

I only see it as a stain because the show just lets it slide rather than making her grow from it the way that other characters have to grow from their flaws. When the show is calling out other characters for being judgemental while giving Rarity a pass for doing the same or worse, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Basically, the way I see it is that the more double standards I have to hold to excuse a character's behavior, the less I like them. Dash and Rarity are at the bottom of the list for me because they're the two that seem to most often get a pass for things not accepted from some pony of the week or something.

We can say Rarity is definitely better than Suri, after all, Rarity would never steal another pony's fabric and then rub her victory in their face.
But she certainly isn't as great as her fans would say she is. Flawed, yes, but those flaws are more like quirks than things she's ever called out on.
I honestly can't think of a single point in the series where one of the other mane 5 yell at her because her antics have gone too far and it leads to her having an epiphany.
