These korean ones are region free (though that's rare and mostly in certain foreign markets), but most chinese players you get these days ignore region codes on DVDs (not blurays though). Frankly, I don't remember the last time I watched something directly off a disc, I just rip them with makemkv and stick the files on my jellyfin server

I think I can recommend My Little Ties bowtie with Pinkie Pie. Went to a wedding (as guest) wearing it, nobody commented on it, I felt smug about it, and somehow I was more relaxed knowing I already look a bit weird with this piece of apparel. The material is very nice to touch.
Should've bought pony cufflinks as well - maybe if I get invited to another wedding.

I've been getting into sewing my own neckties, I just ordered a fabric test kit from a supplier of custom printed fabric. Once I check out their options I plan on making my own pony themed ties. Not sure if I plan on selling any. They'll likely be some form of cotton or polyester which can make some really nice ties from experience, silk is just way too expensive and not easy to supply custom printing.

They are cropped from the 16:9 versions, but the episodes were animated protected for 4:3. So cropping them doesn't lose any important info (at least in season 1).

It feels like physically modding consumer electronics has fallen off whatever popularity it had, e.g. think of those 7th gen gaming console/gamepad mods. Post more of pony-blessed tech if you've got 'em.
I personally replace my tech on a ~yearly cycle, selling one thing to buy a newer one used, maybe to avoid losing too much money, but I've been like this for as long as I can remember. The most I've done so far is putting a pony sticker on Framework 13, since I'm likely to keep the exterior of this laptop and just replace the motherboard once every few years, so I won't have to say farewell to the pone for the foreseeable future. If I had to mod something beyond applying a sticker, it would probably have to be something with little technological progress likely to be achieved in ~5 years (=> no incentive to replace it in that timeframe). You know that feeling?

I suppose it's easier when your flavor of autism isn't modern technology, but rather something that doesn't go out of date so often, say, clothes/instruments/whatever else people own and obsess about. Yes I know tech obsolescence and one's reactions to it are a long topic to discuss, my stance currently means giving up librebooted X220 and N900 with postmarketos for daily computing, lovely machines as they were. There is something beautiful about using a piece of hardware for a long time.

Anyway, would you rather put your favorite pony on everything you've got, or would you try to find a pony most relevant to each piece of tech? I still don't have a clearly favorite pony - they're all lovely! - so I would do the latter.

The (promise of a) repair-friendly ecosystem is definitely a main reason I'm considering one so that cancels out some negatives because I want to support that kind of thinking (I'd definitely "assemble" it myself). Essentially the only other options I'd consider are a Thinkpad or a Steam deck, this wouldn't be my main PC, more just to finally actually have a mobile one. No trackpoint (and buttonless touchpad) definitely sucks, they really need it as an option. I've been thinking if I do get one I might try and see if you can kludge a Thinkpad keyboard with trackpoint in it.
If "proper" Thinkpads weren't over a decade old at this point I'd just try that but if I'm getting a laptop I do want to be able to actually use it.

Symbiote is decent enough (I don't have any though), you're not going to find anything comparable at that price (maybe reesee and whatever the other chink one is called if you can get those, I think they use a very similar pattern). As for being slimmer, the issue with Symbiote is that they all tend to have weird reductions in body shape. They also frequently get updated to allegedly address those issues but from what I can tell it remains a bit luck of the draw in terms of QC. It's definitely not 4DE quality which is one reason I don't have any (the other being shipping) but at least you don't have to wait half a year for these.

Even if not a main PC I'd want it to have decent CPU performance since I might want to compile some shit, so a Ryzen would be really nice. But admittedly most of it is "but I might need it" autism, and I'd prefer to get into an ecosystem that might have a future as opposed to an increasingly ageing one, though who knows if that actually pans out. Maybe I should look at used Ryzen Thinkpads.
