nah at the time I drew that I did square shines to help differentiate my art from others and because I also genuinely liked the look. I started off drawing with rectangular eye shines and wanted to keep it at that point of time to keep my, at the time, current work inline with my previous work. I have abandoned it though switching to a more conventional oval shape, kept the iris pattern the same though cause I like it. I drew that pic about a year ago and I was experimenting a lot with style, texture, and coloring.
