So why is it okay when Celestia does it? Starlight does it to a few dozen ponies and it's morally reprehensible but Celestia does it to a few dozen million ponies and she's a benevolent demigod? Is it because she styles herself as a monarch? Is it because she's an alicorn? Are they supposed to be promoting a master race mentality? Why does no one call out how unfair it is and the blatant double standards they have for Starlight and Celestia?

People like to treat Celestia as if her position as ruler comes from her power as an alicorn. But in reality she's just a good ruler, she gets to rule because everypony likes her on top of the fact that she inherently has one of the greatest responsibilities of any pony as the one who controls day and night (until Luna comes back). If the ponies were dissatisfied with her at all they could easily overthrow her because of how much of a jobber she is.
