The first 1-3 NMP threads were really good actual personal discussions about loving ponies, kinda like waifu wednesday or those religious threads that pop up sometimes. But some faggot wrote a green and everybody latched onto it, so the thread became a shitty general about that green instead. It's still kind of based in concept but I can't stand it when good ideas get turned into sprawling narratives and tropes and canons that have nothing to do with the show everybody else is here for, it was much much better as a discussion thread.

Yes what I'm saying is that when a thread becomes a subculture, where you have to read a bunch of lame fanfiction to learn about all the special OCs and shit like that, that's the end of my interest. I don't give a single fuck about OCs or sub-fandoms about certain tropes or greens or whatever. P.S. I just noticed what's probably tripping you up. The "good idea" in question with NMP was the general principle of a discussion thread for loving mares. It was minimized into something trivial and lame when people latched onto the greentext. Similar stuff happens all the time, somebody has some decent ideas but they force it into a sprawling 20k word green spanning multiple threads when they could have done it in 5 posts. Ofc the way this kills good ideas is more that autistic people suddenly get lazy and fixate on consooming what's being fed to them instead of being creative, it's not exactly the fault of the author, but still.
