To be fair to her, that was her literal house, it's understandable she'd be pretty upset. She was pretty torn up in both episodes anyway.

Both situations were Starlight-centric from Trixie's point of view. The wagon and the job position aren't really what upset her. She wanted to be Starlight's righthand mare. With the wagon situation, Starlight essentially said "Trixie, I'll just make major decisions on your behalf without even talking to you first". The job situation was "Trixie, you want to be my righthand mare, but guess what: you're a completely useless annoyance to me". She felt devalued as a best friend.

True. The issue is that Trixie still acts that way off stage, whereas any of m6 (except RD) keep their egos under control.

RD is a supportive big sister figure to Scootaloo, as well as helped save the day as an Element several times. This I believe is why Rainbow is judged less harshly than Trixie.

When Starlight is around, Trixie's still attention-seeking and insecure, but less so. Together, she begins to be more genuine, including using first-person speech.

Because Starlight understands her, which lets her feel safe coming out of the shell she has built. Up until then, she'd relied on that shell as a medicine when her home got destroyed, or when she was publicly ostracized. It took the wake-up call in NSP to get her to realize it is not a medicine, but a poison.

How is that not character development?
I do wish they shifted from "I dislike you" to "I'm okay with you" I little more overtly. If it wasn't limited to a 22 minute episodes, I bet Twilight would have talked to Trixie one on one in Celestial Advice and said something like "Starlight told me how brave you were", and "I can see I made the right choice giving you a second chance, I'm really glad you were her first friend", and then maybe they would hug.
