I think I want an "arranger" keyboard. I've always liked them, but never had one.
I would mention this in the synth thread, but they're looked down on by both synth-fags and classical-fags alike. Considered "blue collar". Perfect for guitarists or someone playing at an old folks home.

For the record, Japanese autism doesn't create garbage either. But they didn't have an old tradition of creating Western instruments at that point. Germans had been making some variety of string instrument for a long time.

For the buzzing G string, try keeping your bridge rocked all the way forward as its default position. I realize thatโ€™s not going to help your vibrato issue but if the bridge is already as low as it can go, try that.

Yeah Iโ€™ve just got to keep tweaking the height of the bridge and the angle of the cigar bar. The neck wasnโ€™t shimmed and it was too flat, so I shimmed the neck at half a degree but it was a little too steep so I shimmed it at a quarter degree. With no shim the bridge was completely flush, where itโ€™s at now I have it at around 3-4mm above the plate. Itโ€™s just a matter of finding how high I need the bridge where the action is good and then tweaking the angle of the cigar. Itโ€™s just one of those things thatโ€™s going to be a tedious pain in the ass to get it perfect but I knew that was going to be the case, and then once itโ€™s all set up I shouldnโ€™t have to ever really mess with it if I keep using the same strings whenever I change them. Iโ€™m out of town for work rn and I really wish I was playing with the Mustang at home instead

Iโ€™ve been forcing myself to trudge downstairs immediately after waking up these past few saturdays to play and itโ€™s been a good way of getting my day started. I work from home still so during the week I pretty much crawl right from bed to the computer and canโ€™t really get a nice long jam in until after 6 at which point I donโ€™t feel like playing for more than an hour or so. I put fresh strings on my Fiesta Stang yesterday and to my amazement, it has been staying in tune way better than with the regular slinkyโ€™s. Usually I have to stretch the shot out of them and wait for them to break in for a week or two and thatโ€™s on any guitar really, but these power slinkyโ€™s feel good, sound good, and are staying in tune way better than usual.

You can probably fight closer to $100 on the used market depending on which orange you're getting. Non reverb, no onboard tuner, etc. Like any amp, that 2" jump from a 10" speaker to 8" is a big jump in "boxy" tone. It's cool if you're right beside the amp like online demos, but the more space you try to fill the worse it gets.

Catalyst, katana, old vox vt, THR, all the same. Perfectly good.

I used to flip line6 pocket pods, because people were too stupid to turn them on. They were fine for their convenience, but not quite good.

They look cool and were a great concept. They're full of suspect circuits and parts. They should be gutted and rebuilt into respectable fenders, but I wouldn't even trust the transformers on these. The only fender pawn series I like is the Greta. Those are still over prices.

Don't get an Excelsior when you want a supro. Don't get a greta when you want a Benson. Don't get the other one when monoprice is better and cheaper. etc.

You could always wire it 500k and use resistors (or dial the tone knob to taste), but really a 250k humbucker isn't that bad. The real shortcoming of an HSS is that you lose the classic position 1 and 2. Now some would say losing 1 isn't bad but losing 2 is what's stopped the HSS from overtaking the traditional Strat if you ask me.

I'm not upset he isn't trying to learn more cause hes a kid but its the weird obsessive trait where he thinks we bond because he hits a guitar without even playing music as if its the same thing, other day I kinda told him to stop cause it was like the 4th time in a row he ambushed me and he did but I just really don't want to cross a line and upset the autismo cause his uncle is my landlord

Got the vibrato like 85% of the way there for going down in pitch, still need to do a little finer filing on the nut cuz itโ€™s got 11s now and was cut for 9s or 10s. I can do flutters fine and it stays in tune for the most part, I can dive a little and it throws the G out a little, but I canโ€™t pull back on the arm and go up in pitch on stay in tune and it doesnโ€™t always reset back in tune when using the vibrato without some help pulling it back to neutral. Taking a file to some edges on the vibrato plate/buying a vintage vibrato unit will fix a lot of the return to zero issues cuz these Nip plates donโ€™t hold a sharp edge for the metal on metal contact and that increases friction which causes it to have problems returning to in tune without help. Was having a hard time getting the action height and break angle right with shimming the neck with two different sizes, but then I said screw it letโ€™s try no shim and what do you know itโ€™s way better without any shim.

It feels great, it sounds great, and I genuinely enjoy playing it; I just want it to be a little more stable tuning wise. I expected it to be a pain and not perfect tuning wise but I still want to do whatever I can to make it as perfect as I can. Iโ€™ve got three Strat style vibratos and one Floyd Rose and never use any of the vibratos (Iโ€™m a simple hardtail retard 2bh, keep it simple stupid) so if I canโ€™t get this vibrato as perfect as I like Iโ€™m honestly considering just blocking the vibrato with some nuts and bolts/buying a hardtail unit that looks like a normal Mustang unit and either eliminating the rocking bridge or just getting a Mastery. I didnโ€™t buy a Mustang for the cool weird vibrato unit, I bought one because I specially wanted a short scale with two lower output pickups that was super light and handy and a Mustang is all of that. I wonโ€™t be missing the vibrato if I decide to just ditch it.

Thank you again for coming to my Ted talk blogpost yet again

Yeah seriously. I knew it was gonna be a pain. There are a lot of resources online about how to do it and a lot of people telling you how they do it but to do it yourself is different than just reading about doing it. Iโ€™ve almost got it where I want it, if I canโ€™t get it as perfect as I can (Iโ€™m super autistic about intonation) my backup was already just hardtail it and forget about it. I was going to buy a Player series Mustang cuz those are hardtail but I wanted the traditional pickup sliders and not a three way switch, so my whole mindset with this Mustang from the get go was โ€œif I can get it set up good enough then cool but if not hardtail itโ€ so it isnโ€™t like hardtailing it is a last resort give up thing, it was already in the cards. Iโ€™m honestly surprised the vibrato is as โ€œstableโ€ as it is currently

I just like short scales 2bh, had a Jazzmaster for a number of years and didnโ€™t click with it and never had any other offsets until this year with my Squier Super Sonic and now this Mustang. Before buying this Mustang I spent a lot of time pricing out a Warmoth build for a Gibson scale Strat style body with two lipstick pickups to fill the โ€œshort and light two lower output single coilsโ€ hole in my heart but nah I got a Mustang instead

If you want to know the triads then yes learn the name of the notes on the fretboard so you donโ€™t get lost in patterns.

I prefer them for the combo of scale options, having a rhythm circuit, and to get sounds you just cannot get out of a Strat or Tele. For Mustangs is the scale and extremely fast playing neck, for Jags and JMs itโ€™s the rhythm circuit and trem. If anything, the hipster stigma is a cross that comes with them that Iโ€™m willing to bare and try redeem back from the reddit crowd. Essentially itโ€™s the specs and functionality.

It was straight when I started, I tried to up the saddles and forward bow, then lower saddles to the bottom and a bit of backbow and that didn't help too much (and introduced ski-jumping around the 10th fret).
Just need a little bit of height, probably new frets since this guitar is old but it's my old cheap jamming guitar and I can't be fucked to invest 200$ into equipment for fretting just yet.

I should have made sure you had steel frets before suggesting it too, cheap frets are soft.
But a lot of times flex and environmental factors can cause the frets to get pushed out of their slots, and if you've already adjusted the relief its worth a shot.
Good luck.

yeah truss/saddles was the first thing I tried.
I just shimmed all of my nut slots with some card stock and lowered the saddles a bit and it's fine for now, it just pissed me off.
I think another issue is that this shipped with jumbo frets but epiphone probably used a regular height nut for their normie bitch lp copies using the older low profile wire frets.

There are a lot of options for Japanese ones which is cool. Early production 1965, middle production 1969, middle production 1973, other more generic ones, some signature ones (Char one is cool but I wish it had slider selectors), you can really narrow it down to some fairly specific specs with Japanese Mustangs and only be set back like $1k-$1.5k

Enjoy your impossible intonation.
I was so set on getting this baritone Tele. I just love the Tele shape, the double bound body. My plan was putting in a single-coil sized humbucker in the bridge, so I can play all the chugging, high gain rock and metal riffs with it. But then I noticed the bridge, yikes.

Bedtime soon after another night of playing guitar and following youtube theory videos.
I saw Jared James Nichols play and am now obsessed with electric fingerstyle. A couple of hours of practice and I sound pretty damned good, if not slow. Also practicing my 7th diminished shape and practicing relative key scales.

This thing sounds great with overdrive, clean itโ€™s a little anemic cuz the pickups are low output but that lets you fill it in and color it with effects and man does it sound great with some OD, both slight OD to edge of breakup and full on overdrive. The bridge pickup is much more like a Tele bridge pickup in sound than any of my Strat bridge pickups which really surprised me, Iโ€™ve owned four Strats over the years and this bridge beats them all with dirt and itโ€™s just the basic old factory bridge pickup not a hot rail or anything

Alright lads, looking to go buy an amp today.
Down to these:
Vox vt40x
Vox vt20x
Boss katana 20
Boss katana mini

For all intents and purposes the mini would probably do it but the vox seems to have the best sound for cheapo modeling amps from what I read- and a 10" speaker on the 40 allegedly sounds better and can do more than the 8" on the vt20

You're gonna need two Guitars. Trying to do it with one Guitar will either result in your strings being floppy and out of tune when you go down to Drop B or your strings being so firm they dig into your fingers when you tune to E Standard with the risk of the strings snapping when you tune up from Drop B.
