People have a hard time writing changes. It takes a bit of practice and honestly, a bit of knowhow. Read up on song structure, relative keys and tension/release in the context of progressions.
It's easy to write a cool groove but you need a foundation in order to glue pieces together. Have fun anon.
p.s using the bass to compose IS challenging but it creates more varied, groove-driven music and is a ton of fun

These Mustangs are the easiest to shred on out of all my Fenders, when they have a great set up it’s like good Strat but even faster due to the short scale. Are you playing thumb pointing down or more parallel with the string? Either way I do alright with the low E and A string but D and G sound like ass when I slap em. I’m getting better with my twin finger plucking but what’s surprising is how much harder it is to sing while plucking compared to guitar. On guitar I can sing over elaborate finger picking and even when mixing lead in between chords, but over a basic ass bass line while plucking with two fingers? Not so much. Page was arguably more innovative than Hendrix. He used all kinds of unorthodox techniques and production processes, alternate tunings, legato, harmonics, etc. and wrote dozens upon dozens of absolutely classic songs. Page also produced zeppelin. Hendrix was good, but his catalog is nothing compared to Led Zeppelin. Page was already working as a studio musician and playing with the yardbirds before Hendrix hit the scene. And personally I don’t see any influence from Hendrix in page’s songwriting. Page was one of the first guitarists to shred in rock and roll and to this day is extremely difficult to cover. His slide playing was immaculate. They pioneered the 6-10 minute rock epics. Songs like babe I’m gonna leave you and your time is gonna come were so fucking incredibly far beyond their time and progressive. Jimi never wrote a masterpiece like ramble on or Kashmir. His most popular songs were covers. Innovative for sure but not even close to zeppelin.
