What exactly do you people like about these streams? Most Vtubers aren't actually funny or entertaining. It's almost purely driven from parasociability. You know why I know this? Male Vtubers aren't popular. The majority of the audience for this is male. The male Vtubers aren't very different from the female ones, they just happen to be male. More than anything, I think most Vtuber watchers are stuck in an endless cycle of cope and parasocial tendencies they acknowledge but can't get rid of because it then means confronting the fact that they're lonely. I legitimately do not believe the majority of female Vtubers are watched because they're actually entertaining. Most of them rarely have interesting things to say and most of the time they're not even good at games. It really is just a way for lonely people to feel like they're interacting with someone. I think that's why Naplings are going to stay Cucklings even when Nimi is getting backshot live on stream. You people just don't want to deal with the fact that you're lonely.
Me, I just like drama and laughing at the shitshow that is the EN space. I do genuinely find it sad that so many men resort to this though. I think AI Vtubers/companions will be a way better alternative because at the very least, you won't be supporting grifters and e-whores.
