What's the best trailer manufacturer? Does it matter, or should I just get something cheap if in decent condition?

A: cheapest shit on Craigslist/Facebook that fits your needs
B: whoever can offer and fulfill warranty work in your area.

This is because in the first 5 years issues with trailers will arise with heavy use. After that, they're usually good to go for many decades. So either brand new w/ warranty or something old and well used for proof of build quality.

What type of trailer are you looking at specifically? Most of the manufacturer built trailers will be built similarly comparable to their weight rating capacity. Some of the super light car trailers are kinda dogshit, you usually get what you pay for on those. I have a couple dually tandem trailers one 30' and another 24' that have both been good. The 30' is a T&R and the 24' is a Norris. Also bought a Tophat dump trailer new. Used ones around here were either beat to shit or priced like new, so I bought new. Also have several stock trailers and car trailers as well. They all require maintenance once in a while. Think about how badly you will be abusing it and get one with a heavy enough frame to handle it.

Also get what your truck will handle. It's better to get a trailer rated for 14k than a trailer rated for 7k that you might push near the limit a few times a year. Bigger axles, hubs, frame, etc. are always better, and a good trailer is really a "buy once cry once" sort of deal.

Also yeah specialized trailers like dumps are great, but a good 8x20 flatbed is like using a wrench like a hammer. Not always ideal, but it'll do in a pinch.

Make sure to inspect and grease the wheel bearings.
I see a lot of stranded trailers with missing wheels on the side of the road.

I gave up trying to find a trailer since all the beat to shit ones on marketplace were overpriced and all the new ones at Lowe's were already rusty, so I built one myself.

Just look at what the commercial outfits are running if you want something heavy duty. Check your local auction places like Ritchie Bros. You can get cheap, well built trailers that would be mint with a little TLC.

Nothing made in Georgia. They're all made by spics out of scrap steel and pumped out as fast as possible with little to no QC.

Literally useless. What does that hold, 500lbs tops? Should have just looked somewhere besides Lowe's.

If you have 7 trailers you're either very well off or an EBT recipient. There's almost never any in-between.

Well it's got to have something to hold up the front end when it's not hooked up to a vehicle, and I've learned the hard way that it doesn't matter how strong you think you are if you have a fucked up spine
