You will honestly need to wander into a shop and play a bunch. Generally solid tops will sound better than laminates, after that, spruce is a favorite but I've played 600$ seagulls with cherry wood that held up against normal-line taylors.

80% the bracing pattern, 18% the top and maybe 2% everything else. an acoustic guitar is an engineers wet dream because the less bracing and the thinner the top is, the more mids and highs the guitar can have, but also the higher risk that it will collapse under string tension. the size of the guitar, sound hole location also plays into this but the 4-5 sizes are all pretty standard at this point. obviously string construction makes a difference too but you'll probably be playing phosphor bronze strings on a regular acoustic. older guitars are more resonant i guess because moisture has continued to leave the guitar and any sugars or structures in the wood itself have set up and makes the wood almost kind of crispy feeling. plastic and lam top guitars sound really compressed or muddy; i really don't like them

Never tried NYXL, but Paradigms were cool. I was using them on a guitar I don't have anymore though. I think they use some sort of treatment process like Elixirs, but it's at a very tiny level to not be noticeable. Rather than a pricier metal like the Martins. Martins standard strings are also treated in a similar way, but they're like $10. These Titanium string prices are ridiculous, but I just had to try them. If it lasts for a year, it might actually be worth it.

Never works. We're all different, all different morphologies and playing styles. Some musicians have big bulky hands, some have long spooky fingers, some people are manlets others are giants... And in terms of style some players like to make big leaps on the fretboard, others like intricate compositions...
Don't listen to posture advices. There are a few no-no's but otherwise as long as you're able to play what sounds good in your head you should go ahead and do whatever.

Wood glue is stronger than wood, my guy.

Only when looking at it very simply.
What about the flexibility compared to the wood?
Not to mention if the glue is not applied properly
the bond will not be mechanically sound.

I want to attempt making a mold
of a firebird from styrofoam
and filling it with wood glue.
Once hardened I will sand and polish the form.
I will then chisel a design of flowers and vines
into the surface of the guitar,
and hand paint them with acrylic markers of
light blue,
dark green,
and red.

After that, I will coat the entire
surface with epoxy multiple times,
letting it dry before applying
another layer.
on each dry surface I will make
additional sparse details
to the surface with
white paint.

The final dried layer of epoxy
I will polished as much as possible.
And with a small carving kit I will chisel
a fake wood grain on the body.
I will lightly sand the whole surface with medium
grit and than do the final polishing.
Getting the whole outermost surfaces as
smooth as possible.

A delicate scuff sand is applied.
A nitrocellulose finish is sprayed
in multiple layers.

After drilling and installing
hardware and electronics,
I put in the frets last. I scallop the fretboard
and polish the fretboard until smooth as glass.

Is it fine that the string is just sitting in the hole like that? The lower strings are thick enough that the part of the string that goes around pushes the part of the string that goes through upwards and keeps it in place (at least visually).
I can't even tell what is holding the string down. Is it just the friction of the part of the string that's wound up?

I listened to Van Halen's first two and I think those would be great. Also plan on learning through Appetite for Destruction once I get my LP setup. Beyond that, not sure what to go for. Yeah, they seem like an excellent pedal platform. I primarily use a dialed back BBE TS as my clean sound so I’m hoping I can use that to get a good tone and quell the need to have it cranked too loud. I guess I could look into an attenuator or load unit if I really love the broken up sound of the amp at higher volume. Another thing I’m going to try is running channels one and two simultaneously with a Y cable or pedal with stereo out, I’ve heard that cuts the volume as well.

You will just never make metal with it. If you want to make metal with a Vox you need special gear and tweaking, but you can get a surprisingly decent even killer tone with a Vox (and some pedals).
But yeah for rock, twangy grimy dirty and everything, a Vox is never a bad choice. Even with just15W, you crank it up and if you need further amplification you just put a mic in front of it.

It's gotta be the Firebird X.
Like a cyber truck it does it's job it play like a guitar like the cybertruck lumbers down the street.
Also like the cybertruck it's inteded purpose wasn't to just lumber down the road it was meant to be a truck which the Cybertruck fails as.
This abomination was meant to be more than just a guitar and it turned out over priced junk that was unable to be upgraded.

I could see owning a vintage Strat since I already have very nice modern Strats, so it would be worth dealing with the flaws of an old, dying vintage Strat. I couldn’t say the same for most other models though, just not worth the price when modern versions are more than suitable.

Homie Leo Fender invented the guitar amp long before he designed an electric guitar. Fender is literally the godfather of all amps, even Marshall started as modded blackfaces.
They do very very very well. Marshall just has a lifestyle headspace though, you're right. The current model of "rockstar" screams Marshall even if most pros use a clean Fender as their canvas these days.

My mate had a 1980s kramer that had a MDF body, he put in expensive pickups and upgraded all the hardware, had a luthier do the fretwork and set it up. was one of the nicest playing and sounding guitars i've ever tried. weighed a tonne though. from then on "tonewood" didn't matter to me.
wood only matters for aesthetics on see through finishes.

well I bought a new acoustic (steel string) I've only played nylon with no truss rod so you cannot change its action.

I wonder if steel strings have to be higher than nylon? because they're almost at the same height (like 0.03mm of difference) but steel string need lower force to press down than nylon I've noticed. I'm kinda used to nylon so I apply the same force so idk if I should increase its action, does it affect the tone too much or what?
