They're jumpy.

My mom had two. One was very sweet, the other had been abused and you had to be careful not to spook her or she'd bite at you. Of the various dog breeds my family has owned over the years I'd say they were the worst. I wouldn't trust them around children, they're just too impulsive. 99% of the time they can be sweet and then something just rubs them the wrong way and they chimp out on you.
