>>127094918hello old friend
Trying to find a real version of the ai guitar from last thread... oh yeah I like this. Put it in Paranormal or better yet make new ARs.
I got so much from learning the notes on every fret and all the scale shapes so I can easily play along to any key but all my friends can't conceptualize why it was a good idea and make up excuses to say it'll ruin their creativity when I can still break scale and key if I want but they'll do the slightest dissonance or even worse just harmonize when they look for notes
going to lift some weights then fingerfuck my shitplank lads

I'm tempted to get an 80s Gibs LP Custom, but it has a pretty big gash on on it and they still want $4k
It doesn't look like it's played much at all; frets look new and almost no wear on the back.
I can't decide; can you decide for me?
Dubs, I get it; singles I wait another week... maybe.
>>127098121I don't mind all kinds of wear and tear, but those are the ones that usually go deep into the wood that bother the hell out of me. I don't like gashes and obviously not big ass chips.

>>127099192I think they're cool. I just don't want shortscale guitars. I don't play Jaguars either. Or Gibsons.
>>127099160listen to any good improvisationalist. they sound like themselves because their performances can typically be boiled down to 10-15 phrases, structures, or rhythmic ideas. they still make great music with it that's just what they tend to hear in their head. for example the sound of allman brothers is the perfect 4th, primus is the flat 5th. jack bruce does pull offs 16th notes from the octave to the flat 7th, victor wooten used a lot of percussive drum fill style slap notes into harmonics, jamerson is chromatics and open string bounces. your sound will be unique
I think Yngwie J Malmsteen is a great musician.
>>127099261He's awesome. I didn't care for him in the past, but warmed up a lot of these shredder guys.
>>127099243I sort of know what you mean. I listen to classical music and it's more obvious there where the great composers write hundreds of hours of good music instead of a few albums of great music where you can potentially varietymax. 2 pieces can sound completely different but still have the 'fingerprints' which tell you who composed it. I think I'm definitely less naturally creative but I can probably get good at if it I specifically will myself to do it. Not good enough to make stuff wroth listening to but at least good enough to have fun doing it (which is the only reason I play)

Yeah, Iโm going to need an attenuator or load box hahaha. I got it up to 5 before my dogs started hating me, it sounds good though and as hyped, excellent for pedals. Channel one indeed sounds like a Bassman and channel two like a Marshall. I was playing on my friends DAW setup recently and while itโs no doubt convenient and gives you more โoptionsโ, Iโll take real amps every time ten times out of ten. This thing makes my Mustangs sound meatier and my Strat and P90 JM sound so goddamn good through this compared to my lil Orange Crush and MG100DFX I canโt believe it. I
blow a lot of money on gear, but this reminds me why I do it, because it keeps the flame burning and in the case of this amp, squirts lighter fluid on it.

As I was passing the threshold liquid sin sprayed out of me straight into an electric fan, creating an aerosol that blew twords the checkout station. I immediately left and drove home. The thing is it probably seemed to the employees I did it on purpose. Oh well, it's only rock and roll.
>>127101604I'm sorry that happened to you my guy. I'm been in those shoes myself.
Playa think he senses bad vibes but can't even tell when he's bout "blast liquid sin" out of him. That ain't a real reasonable perspective dawg.
>>127099192Same, but one thing holding me back is it seems the majority of Mustangs aren't contoured. I'd rather get a Jag.
Has anyone here learned violin after guitar and did learning guitar first give you any bad habits on violin that are hard/impossible to break?
I know of want to learn violin (I was stupid and learned a wind instrument when I was in school).
i kinda want a strat but never used a trem, i know they make hard tails. do any famous people use trem less strats or is that kinda against the point? am i dumb?
>>127101585The series that went on before the players. 21 frets, six screw trems and all, I like the look of that. I imagine players got their bells and whistles but the old standards are just cooler to me.
Wish I had the tabs for this, too much of a brainlet to learn it by ear

K2500xs and an Alesis sr-16. Can do a lot with those two instruments. Playing the weighted 88 keys just feels very satisfying. Saw Dream Theatre live once and Jordan Rudess was playing these absolute melting solos. Front row and he played this keytar solo that was so fast it seemed otherworldly. It was an amazing show btw. I was very inspired by what Jordan did in that concert hall. Not to mention it was when Pertruci was in his beefcake phase. Arms like bands of iron. I felt so safe with him in the room. I like to try to keep that same energy my guys.

>>127101899A hardtail Strat is still a Strat so it's a great choice. Yeah some famous guys used them. Trem usage isn't really needed in any genre.

>>127101902They definitely feel closer to vintage specs as far as the neck goes. Mine probably needs new frets and a full go through, Iโve been putting it off due to buying so many new guitars this year.
>>127102110Maple fretboard HSS American Strat
>>127102299i accept your concession baldie

>>127102239I like them symmetrical unfortunately. There's that Nergal signature which looks dope actually but I want the more classic Flying V look. That Hammett Esp V sig is good looking though, I love that the string holes follow the V shape unlike the Jackson. Way too pricey though.
>>127101259or for the more discerning gentleman
>>127102319That reminds me, I'll need to refret my LP someday. But yes, the vintage look is what I love about strats. 22 frets and 2 point trem just looks strange on them.
>>127102319I'll keep that in mind, the Jags I've played felt solid to really good, but all but 2 of them were set up already.

>>127102381As far as I know Deans are getting fucked by Gibson so those aren't being made anymore. And while the rest of it looks gorgeous, that headstock ruins it completely.
>>127094897 (OP)I got this piece of shit's AUG course pdf because I liked the lessons and the mode charts drive me up a wall because yes they're all the same but I have to memorize the fretboard and start to connect what mode pattern with where the root notes are.
I understand how this will be useful in the future but MAN it is a pain in the ass compared to the whole-fretboard per mode/key runs like OPs link.
>>127102110I got an epi nighthawk reissue when I was in HS. Surprising build quality (light mahogany, belly scarf), D-shape shredder neck, ebony fretboard but.... it's been a decade and that son of a bitch needs a fret leveling if not new frets.
Pups are surprisingly good too, coil tap on the neck firebird humbucker or bridge slant is sort of thin but perfectly serviceable compared squier classic vibes.
I want a real nighthawk but the secret got out and the prices are starting to up on reverb.

>>127102555Holy shit that's a big ass V. Framus are real pricey though.
>>127102635I don't use much trem either, I just like the way 6 screw looks. Also much easier to deck. It's the 21 frets for me though, I just think a strat looks way better with that.

>>127102497I think the legit gripe is the cost and that they moved manufacturing over to Indonesia. MIMs have stepped up in quality over that last decade or so, I can see why they did it but they should have been $500 max.
>>127102497I fucked with two at guitar center and both of them looked like rats were eating at the fredboard ends for whatever reason
>>127102735Thatโs been my experience. Maybe itโs the short scale but even though my Jag has an identical trem system it plays better on the JM. Could also be set up better, I havenโt pulled them apart yet since both work pretty well but the JM is smoother.
>>127101788Contours were added in 1969 so if you want contours get any vintage model made 1969 to the end of production in the 1980s or any of the reissues based on models 1969 and newer
