is this album worth checking out? I've actually never heard it. What should I expect?

Why bother is my favorite because it rocks so hard and the lyrics resonate with me on a personal level lol. No other one also has meaning for me and was my favorite when I first got into the album.

Why bother? It has the darkness and noise of pinkerton with the catchiness and straightforwardness that is mostly absent from the album.

"tired of sex", which is also possibly the best song in their catalog

"Tired of sex" is a stupid idea because a man who is tired of sex is incapable of having sex. You're tired of sex, huh? Then why'd you get hard?

Some great songs and then you hear about how Cuomo was a huge gooner while writing it and you feel embarrassed for liking it.

>Is it worth it?
That is for you decide and find out for yourself. The majority might love it and you don't care for it, or they might hate it and you can't see why. Don't expect the Blue Album. Rivers was going through a lot at the time and the album is darker, rawer, uncomfortable, and even edgy (for weezer standards), but all in all there are some great hooks, great unexpected song shifts, and while not as poppy and upbeat as the blue album, is a great rock album in its own way.
I'd say it is worth listening to, if you don't love it by the first listen, give it time
