What is it that these supply that Steinbergers didn't in the 80s? I think I read somewhere that Steins had adjustable bridges where you could quickly detune the entire instrument with one click. Pretty neat, but why did they fail, and why, now, the comeback?
Newfag, consider one of these + power supply. What I like is that it works right out the box, and then you can experiment with plugins/ir loading/vsts when youโre ready. You also donโt have to be tied to your laptop every time you wanna play.
Just don't fall for the pedal meme and buy more than you need.

I recorded another jam right after it on top of some 80s rock shred YouTube track and it has several runs with the same speed as that vocaroo:

You think I would manually speed up the fast parts and and then play normally the rest? These are recorded live on the fly, no mixing or anything. Just press YouTube on, Reaper playback and open Audacity "Record"
>>127251083You need to educate yourself. Tony Ionni wasn't even Mexican.
>>127251097>>127251041I've posted in these generals for years I think even faster vocaroos. Here is BOSS MZ-2 demonstration
The quickest I've clocked Michael Angelo Batio's picking is about 16.5 ish notes per second in recorded songs, this effect happens when you pick the string around and over 20 times a second or more. A sonic boom is a sound associated with shock waves created when an object travels through the air faster than the speed of sound, this is a similar demonstration, this is also true in the realm of guitar playing speed picking
https://vocaroo.com/1kxM8Bel3QwG
The feedback effect can be heard at around 1:22 first time, but I could not get past 16.5 on a first try, however at 1:53 mark the "speed of light" feedback was achieved properly and picking speed was probably more than 20 times per second. This is the closest thing human shredders can achieve in terms of emulating sonic boom and other extremely powerful physics phenomena when extreme amounts of sound energy are created either through explosions or extremely powerful engines breaking the sound barrier.
This is not some sped up nonsense - this is straight up Physics that MAB termed PPS (Potential Picking Speed). Shredding is closest thing to Rocket Science in the realm of instruments and guitar theory
>>127251097just because you're retarded, doesn't mean everyone else is.
It's obvious to anyone that knows guitar that this: https://vocaroo.com/13vxT5UEL9l3

Something happened man.
I wanted to try some 7th chords (is that the same as add7?) to test and practice my understanding of scales and chords.
So I played:
Cmaj7 (C, G, B, E)
Fmaj7 (F, C, E, A)
Emin7 (E, B, D, G)
G7 (G, D, F, B)
I crossed past the octave to "SoLo' and when I pressed the A note somrthing interesting happened. The A note went with all the chords I played. Then I figured if I played a mixture of A lydian and A minor pentatonic, the solo sounded as if it belonged there.
Can anybody explain this to me?

Empty house today. Played for two hours.
>>127252325>is that the same as add7?you never really call a chord "add7". "add" denotes an atypical chord extension (i.e. one not derived from stacking thirds). major/minor/dominant 7ths are by far the most extensions in music, because a) they're just the next third after the 5th, and b) they perform clear functional work as well as providing colour.
>The A note went with all the chords I played.Yeah, it's called a pedal point. It's a pretty standard technique. It's useful for modal mixture in parallel keys, like your lydian/minor pent example.

>>127252836Arigato sensei. You rock.
But why did the A work in my example?
>>127252879because it's a note in the major scale or pentatonic in all those chords. C (6th) F (3rd) E (4th) G (2nd)
>>127252929It was long overdue saving this reaction gif

>G7 (G, D, F, B)A is the 9th.
A works easily here because the note fits naturally, in different ways, with all four chords. But you can use pedal points for dissonance as well; basically anything can "work" if done right. This anon uses unresolved, non-diatonic tensions throughout an entire song

Any time I change strings which is about once a year per guitar, I use it as an opportunity to deep clean that guitar.

a win is a win baby
>>127256197gg bro. (anchoring your palm on the bridge of an acoustic was dumb as hell even for a beginner though)
>>127256296that's true. it was more for the bottom string and then i moved to anchoring the flesh of my thumb area on the strings as i moved down. it felt natural and muted the strings well; i experimented with placing it where it affected the sound the least but still. glad floating is working for me at the moment

I'm still a beginner but I've started to branch off from Justin Guitar even though I haven't watched much of him, is this okay?

I'll miss you....
>>127256089New string sound sucks, I donโt use a pick 95% of the time so I rarely if ever break strings. After about a year itโs diminishing returns but anything after a few days of rigorous playing up to a year is the sweet spot.
>>127256622I'm going back to it of course since it's structured, but I'm learning other stuff besides that
idk how anyone can play with longnails
>>127256573I've jumped ahead to barre chords and power chords but I'm only on grade 2 of Justin
is it a bad technique to strum in a circular pattern on one string in order to strum quickly? i find it easier than just strumming up and down

all i had to do was roll my index finger so that the side of it, not the face of it, was pressed against the pick and all of a sudden i gain so much control
Getting back into playing, learned major and minor chords, some scales, palm muting as a kid. People recommend the JustinGuitar courses but I find him very dry. Are there any alternatives you guys would recommend?
got some pedals coming in the mail. can i plug overdrive and delay inline into an audio interface?

My fav Rhett video was the "Don't Do This" one with the tech saying not to wrap/tie the string on to the post because it's slow to remove them and he could make more money if his customers didn't do it.

why is is that when i clean the fretboard of my brand new guitar with a damp cloth I'm getting some black substance on my cloth?
>>127257846can't trust me then cause i own none of those
>>127257849Fretboard dye.
A little tip, if your strings are dirty but not quite ready for a change, grab an old receipt, fold the glossy side inward and trap the string in the fold, rub up and down, it will shine your string like new.
>>127257849unfinished rosewood has pores that absorb shit and leech it back out
