>following the same path as AI text
so, it's garbage? i have yet to read an AI-generated short story or poem that was actually good. "indistinguishable from human-written" is meaningless in this context because most humans are also bad writers/musicians.

I'm well aware that AI will automate almost all white collar and professional workers. That does not mean the art it's currently producing is good. Passable as being written by a human? Sure. But that's not the same thing as good and it's misleading to claim otherwise.

Given cRap/pop are the dominant genre, and most people too braindead to see trash like kendrick as anything other than the second coming of Jesus, I say more power to AI, once 100 different flavored tpabs are churned out daily, people won't dick ride that scum, or rap in general, anymore. As far as I'm concerned, music is already dead, nothing innovative anymore left. Maybe AI will one day take the lead in developing new art forms we didn't even think of yet.

AI media is for memes, porn, and stock images/sounds. The circlejerking hAIpebeasts who think that the average talking meatsuit's indifference to their air-filler music being generated or not is a sign of an AI art future are hyperextrapolating, at best.

if you enjoy making music and don't necessarily care about gaining an audience, how well AI music imitates man-made music doesn't matter. even if you have aspirations for gaining an audience and/or commercial success, there will still be people who mainly/exclusively seek out man-made music. I really don't get the hysterics.

AI music will be immensely cheap to produce. The music industry will move away from actual musicians and hire sexy models who make noise on social media to mime to AI music.

It will start with big name artists using AI to write or tweak songs to make them more appealing to the masses.

Human art and creativity is over.

Currently ai art is public domain but if you haven't noticed it's always watermarked or the proof is embedded in the file itself. Only a matter of time until the laws get changed so that the copyrights go to the companies that own the bots (and rightfully so) in the first place.
>b-b-but ai is just data mining
So do humans only we call it "inspiration" and you can bet your bottom that's the stupid kind of argument that'll be used to justify laws change. If I were any of you I'd stop paying for these subscription fees and start downloading ai from github to train yourself before it mysteriously disappears.

>its fucking over for the art form of music.
What kind if deranged logic even is this?
Even if AI Art truly did become par with human art in terms of quality, at best you'd then have to hold AI to identical standards to people, not higher standards, that doesn't make any sense. By this logic nobody on Earth should be making art because Michelangelo or Beethoven existed. What a lousy attempt at ragebait. Shame on you OP

Anonymous No.128217449 [Report]

I'm saying that the primary (or at least a major) motivator in making art is, in my opinion, a lack of satisfaction with the present material. You can have a metric against which you can judge the level of craft an artwork is executed with, but this only a one side of the whole story. Many fall into the trap of disregarding one for the sake of the other, and it's also fine to forgive certain shortcomings in a work if some of its qualities strongly appeal to your biases

Dude, I remember how even 15 years ago AI struggled to translate basic text, and people like Benny the Irish polyglot would say "AI will never get the nuances of informal speech/slang, and by the time AI can translate a book, there will be cities on the moon" guess what ? now it does. AI is/will adapt, go through many installments, from home/supercomputers, to quantum, organic, and whatever other models, until it reaches consciousness, it's unavoidable, humans aren't magical in that regard, AI as it's done today will reach a dead end, but models that don't simply parrot texts qritten by humans will eventually arrive, I give 10-20 years at most, for AI to develop true consciousness

Really good counter ironic analogy. AI music is going to be like the pet rock in 10 years, no one will give a shit. It will be in commercials, tv and film soundtracks, and airport music but no one will care about it in a deep way or interact with it or go out of their way to pay for AI music. People care about other people and their personalities and life experiences.

The fact that it's been really believable for probably 6 months or more and every time a label has been like "Hey kids check out our new AI popstar!" everyone clowns on it and ignores it, is enough evidence to me that it simply will not catch on. Now AI in general will most certainly be a mainstay in our societies but with "algorithms" being a thing for years now it's not a huge shift in my opinion, certainly not for art. Jobs have been getting more and more automated over time and I think that's a good thing because eventually the most dangerous jobs will be done by machines and it will save lives. But art? Not happening. Electronic artists didn't kill live music acts, hell digital can't even figure out how to kill vinyl for Christ's sake.
>>128227744
If you think commercials, tv and film soundtracks, and airport music accounts for 99% of music you are a hyperbolic idiot. I think AI will take up a good chunk but so what, that's not going to kill real human made music, just like the printing press didn't kill calligraphy. People will have the option to listen to their own library of AI generated music suited to their tastes but unless they want to watch a hologram perform AI music "live" they're going to have to pay to see a real life artist for in person experiences.
