Great when it decides to actually start, but I've been getting random crank-no-starts recently. Pulling one of the sparkplug leads, putting a spare plug in it, and letting it arc to the negative battery terminal with the injectors unplugged somehow has managed to fix it 3 times now, with everything plugged back in the way it should it fires on the first crank and runs like nothing ever happened.

Fine after spending over a year replacing all the fucking Chinese sensors the fly-by-night dealership I got this shitbox from threw at it to get it running, with genuine Japanese sensors, which is why it took me so fucking long, tracking down good, Japanese made sensors. All four O2 sensors, TPS, MAP and AFM (this generation Mitsubishi uses both a MAP sensor and an AFM in tandem). All of which were the cheapest shit bargain Chinese replacements they could find. Also took out all the clogged catalytic converters, sleeved both upstream units with tubing while leaving a hole in each emptying out into the bodies of what were the original catalytic converters to act as a small reverb chamber, converted to 76mm exhaust from the Y pipe all the way back using entirely stainless tubing, joints and genuine HKS mufflers for both the pre muffler and final, and a single 76mm high flow catalytic converter just to further even out the sound waves.

Do yourself a huge favor and run a dedicated heavy gauge cable directly to the battery (in conjunction with the original charging cable), a heavy, dedicated ground from the alternator to an actual chassis point, and a heavy, dedicated ground from the battery to an actual chassis point.
Also make sure your battery isn't shitting itself. If a battery goes dead and won't take what the alternator is giving it, it'll fry the alternator.
Both those things are 99% of the time the problem with alternators, assuming they're not shit brands to begin with.

yep stock xmember. you do have to elongate the mount holes for the transmission and you have to cut the front off the xmember so the transmission case has somewhere to go. pretty easy mod. the hardest part so far has been making the pedal assembly. I used the mustang clutch rod and quadrant and welded that to a crown vic non-powered brake assembly. using the powered assembly from the Town Car is impossible, at least with my skillset.

it's an 04. you can still do the swap on a DBW. pretty much every writeup I've seen is for DBW crowns. the setup should be identical. Once I've had my fun with this swap, I'm probably going to try and do a full drivetrain/engine swap to something way different. Thinking of a coyote/10r80 setup for it.

I think I blew a positive wire to total oxidation. It's a common issue on the car but I think I accelerated its corrosion by pushing too much power through it. Just have to wait on wires and butt splices, and I'll just patch it up.

My steering has a weird click. Not a sound, but a feeling. I can feel it when backing out of the garage and while going slow in parking lots.

It almost feels like the steering wheel is loose. It isn't but it has that feeling coming through the wheel. It's hard to describe. It happens at about a 1/4 or 1/2 turn. It's the same spot every time, roughly.

Is this a CV? I can't pinpoint where it's eminating from.
The rack doesn't move, no visible damage or cracks, the wheel is tight, the ujoint on the steering shaft is tight, and the control arms are new. I really don't get it.

Shit started to misfire when I accelerate too fast. Most likely a turbo issue. will probably be 4 figures to fix.

other than that it's ok

Been back to running for a few days now. The fancy dual row rad I tried to use was to fat to fit sadly.

I have ordered a fuel pump on rockauto, I am going to do the right thing and get it up on jack stands and try to replace it without removing the gas tank because I really don't feel like getting into that and surely I won't break my neck and all three of my arms trying to finangle a pump between the gas tank and differential

Break fluid slow leak. And also I think an I'll fitting cap to the break fluid top up that is making it absorb water. So basically I'm getting warnings every five minutes shouting at me to stop because my breaks will fail. I don't stop
