>โ€œEighty-five percent of truck buyers finance for seven years or more. They keep it for 12 years because everythingโ€™s gotten more expensive,โ€ Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis said during a media event. โ€œBut you know what hasnโ€™t changed? No one has changed the warranty. Theyโ€™re investing more and more and more money in your brand, but youโ€™re not investing more money to protect them.โ€

FUCKING WHY?

Because the economic foundation of the country is eroded by welfares and social securities and its only going to get worse.
Its fine and dandy for a country's backbone to be "soft" services like finance and software with hard exports being oil, food, and some high tech. It's even fine for a country to have a large trade deficit. The money still has to make sense.

We've been inflating our currency to manage debt payment without managing the debt for over 50 years now.
84 month loans, 6% interest, 50-70k trucks most of these people use as a social symbol, trying to float thous to tens of thous debt on top of it. 54% of americans are a net negative to federal income.
Somethings gotta give and if it dont it collapses.

Embarrassed you were so easily outed? You live in a bubble you retarded faggot, the best selling car in California for the longest time was the Toyota Camry when it was the Ford F-150 in almost every other state. California is not indicative of literally anything relating to the other 49 states. Not home prices, not demographics, not homosexual household percentages, not per capita of annoying BMW dickheads.

A normal car with an optional trailer for large goods mogs your truck in cost, comfort, fuel efficiency, top speed, handling, styling and practicality.

Bottled water is move for roadtrips like now. The sheer versatility of a truck is hard to match as it is move to dd as long as you are ok with like 20mpg.
>cost
Average vehicle cost is like 50k nowadays and that gets you a decent half ton, this doesnโ€™t take into account tax breaks if you have a business.
>comfort
They are very nice to be in with LWB and nice tires, material is dependent on spec.
>fuel efficiency
Meh, cost of robust drivetrain
>speed, handling
Idc as Iโ€™m not treating it as a race car on the street.
>styling

Why do Americans like to finance depreciating assets like cars that they clearly cannot afford for a long period and risk negative equity? Wouldnt it just be better to buy things with cash or buy something cheaper/finance less expensive cars? How do Americans sleep well at night when they could literally end up on the street with purchases like this if the economy goes for a coaster ride again? I've not seen this kind of spending behavior in most other countries. And for some reason it is affecting Europeans too, specifically middle eastern guys in Europe who finance their expensive bmw/golf gti/audi/mb and end up bankrupt.

On flat ground at 20mph when it's 35 degrees outside, maybe. Try it driving normally and you'll overheat, burn your trans, and lmao good luck going downhill. Not to mention the frame and suspension abuse.
If a car is rated for 1k tow that's because the rear frame can't handle any more than that.

I have a car with a v6, rated for 1k tow. Same engine and trans goes into promaster 3500s. My car weighs 3600. GVWR 4600. Promaster weighs 5 grand and tows 6. My car is not a promaster 3500. My car isnt built like a 3500.

What I dont have is the radiator or rad capacity, trans cooler, better brakes, suspension made for that weight, and chassis built for it.
I could hook 5 thou to my ass, crush the suspension, fry the trans and damage my frame.

But you go ahead and try it and let us know.

>Because the economic foundation of the country is eroded by welfares and social securities and its only going to get worse.
Categorical nonsense. There is never a shortage of money. The US has theoretically unlimited money. As Alan Greenspan himself said under oath to Congress: "There is nothing that stops the US government from creating as much money as it wants and giving it to someone."

The real issue is whether the physical resources someone would buy with that cash will be produced and exist in sufficient numbers. Is there going to be enough lumber, meat, natural gas, etc. If you have 10 guys in timber harvesting machines that can do the work of what used to be 1000 guys, is this actually a monetary problem? No, it isn't.

That's just how 4x4 OBS 350s are. Those are stock size tires too, 235/85R16. It probably looks like more than a modern truck because I'm pretty sure like 18-20" is standard for wheels now. Also proportionally modern truck bodies are pigfat. The bottom of that denali lines up with the center of its wheels, the bottom of my trucks body is higher than the top of the wheel and therefore sits higher

nothing says "i'm broke" like driving something that'll lose more than half its value the moment you drive it off the lot while the truck will be worth double what the german car will be 10 years from now.

Nope. Luxury tucks have excellent profit margins. If they cut all that tax prices would probably stay around the same.

Cause Porsche snobs are very very weird. This does not apply to other luxury cars. You could suck off the dealer and get a great spec allotment and sell it for more than MSRP if you wanted to.

90% of those buyers have no need for a truck and should just swallow their ego and get a civic/accord/cr-v.
For the 10% who actually need a truck, yeah theyโ€™re just fucked.

It wore the outside out, the inner 80% had like 8/10, the outer had 1-2/10, I took em off the rims and flipped em, all gud now. They're all wearing out now though I'm probably going to buy a fresh matching set of cheap a/t's
>>28467222
I only expected it to last me 1-2 years, but I've had it close to 5 now. Had to replace front brake lines a few years ago & just had to replace a rear shackle (PITA).
I couldn't tell you, unless you could tell me something that sets them apart

Thanks, I bought them for $80 with two good tread tires & 2 bad ones, kept the good tread and swapped over my good 2 from my old rims. Cleaned up the chrome & gave it another coat of blue clear coat on the worn old paint.

One of the rims was rusted through and leaking too, I tried to weld it from the outside but it was in the crease and I couldn't get to it well enough to be air tight. I ended up taking the tire off and welding it from the inside for much better access, airtight. With the added metal on the one side I added a steel wheel weight on the opposite side
