years ago I gave a friend a ride down to check out an EX250. I rode it for her to check it out and it had so little power I didn't understand why it existed. anyways she asks me if she should buy it and I tell her it runs fine but that she should ride it herself to make sure, she then proceeds to drop it while u-turning at the end of the road. told her she has to buy it now lol.

no stories are every good lol, its usually just fucking retards who think theyre not going to crash, then take a corner too fast or get cut off and fall off

3 weeks ago, we did have 1 guy that was clearly drunk, so he pretended to be passed out when the policia came to breathalyse him, worked 3 times, and by the time he actually got tested he was just below the limit

and no, not a grill brush, but if its bad, we will get the steel wool out
steel wool > wash out with alcohol > more steel wool > more alcohol > pick around with tweezers > more alcohol

Picked up a 25 Dax 125 for my two block commute to work, got a 14 Ultra Limited ++ in my garage.. Get made fun of for not riding the "big bike" but that shit isn't even out of the garage by the time I'm here.. Highly recommend for a small town. Speed limits 25-35. Fastest I got it up to with my ass was 62, don't recommend screaming.. 35 is cash money. Side not while I wait on captcha, I also plan on strapping it to the truck and bringing it on camping trips, major part of my buy.

>development techniques lost
There is no way its lost. There ares still hobbyists that keep a lot of the old film stuff alive. A city library somewhere probably still has books on how its done. I was developing film in HS print shop in the early 2000s. Getting the equipment and knowing how to set it up is another matter. Man i remember the videos and the menu having this awesome soundtrack and then the race starts and you get the most retarded midi-music imaginable instead.

Still dont get why they did that, most racing games that came on CD at that time just used the audio tracks of the CD-Rom and played that during races.

Bros, took my dual sport out and dropped her twice in mud. It had just rained, it was slick as hell, and I was feeling overconfident. I felt like I've gotten a lot better at riding offroad, but man I got too cocky here. I don't even care that I dropped it, but I was riding like shit. Not to make excuses, but the 50/50 tires I have suck ass in the mud. The plastics are getting kinda fucked up now, too.

Anyways, since I'm a dork that always wears all my gear I'm perfectly fine. I wasn't going very fast, but damn it's a good reminder how important it is to ride safely. A drop like the first one, had I been on pavement without gear, would have fucked my leg up for sure. I ate it pretty good. But again, I had gear and I fell on a soft surface/liquid so I'm fine. Just fucked my pants up, but didn't even break skin. Dual sports is hard job, stay safe out there boys.

Nah, I think a dual sport is the perfect first bike actually. Almost all of them have extremely manageable power. I think spending some time riding offroad is good for you. Get a cheap used one, that way you don't feel too bad when you beat it to shit like I'm doing to mine. I did something stupid, make a mistake riding, but all I've got for it is a bruised ego. If I made a similar mistake on a sportbike or something, took a turn too fast, I could be dead or seriously injured.

The silver vinyl has finally arrived.

But that's for another time, maybe next weekend if I have the time, though I could easily see this taking way longer than expected and turning into a week long endeavour of me picking away at just one piece per day or something. Also I really don't want to fuck this up, the vinyl is expensive-ish and I've not done this before, dealing with the vent is gonna be interesting, as will be the holes for the sliders. I may just pull off the fairings to do it on my table instead and make things a bit easier on myself, not in a big rush either way.

Ibex 450, hands down. Even the color scheme is kinda mecha-ish and the "face" looks straight out of Neo-Zeon or something. It's got that busy look that makes it seem more like an AI imitation of a mecha than an actual thing from Gundam though. I'd say the T7 probably wins out of non-chinkshit bikes.

The clutch engagement was at the very beginning of the pull which didnt work for me. The throttle felt like it didnt do anything for the first bit of twist made it hard to take off. Im not a great rider but Im at least somewhat confident on my own bike the v100 made me feel retarded.

Everybody who buys them does PLAN to go off road. It's just that a lot of them rarely/never end up doing it. After having a dual sport for a few months myself I'm realizing that I probably don't need a super capable bike like a T7 when I move up to an ADV, I enjoy exploring random forest or fire roads but even on the dual sport I don't really have the balls to go deep on an actual trail when I'm out of cell service and hours from help and I'm definitely not gonna want to do it on a big heavy ADV.

Ah, are you in the market? I don't regret my dual sport, even if I'm not going off road as much as I hoped to (still doing some, but pretty mild stuff) it's good training for riding tall bikes, it's light enough that I can muscle my way out of some possible drop situations and pick it up easily when they do happen, and gives me a lot of confidence that I wouldn't have on a bigger heavier bike, or a more road-oriented one, like I'd be way too chicken to even go on some of the abandoned forest roads and stuff on a starter ADV.

Well, dropped my new bike for the first time today.
About, I don't know, 6th time I've ridden, and was proud of myself for driving in traffic and doing well at all the stoplights and stop signs.
And then, back in the parking lot, got off, and... forgot to put the kickstand down. Dammit. Couple guys made fun of me while I stood there trying to burn it into my brain: never forget that again, idiot.

Good news is it just rests on the rear rack when it's on its side. But yeah, this is definitely an adjustment coming from driving a car. You have to remember everything.

Currently on a 2011 CBR1000rr - it was my childhood dream bike etc but the lack of electronics and position is starting to get a bit draining as I get older. Do any anons have experience/opinions on:

>BMW S1000r
>Yamaha MT-10
>Kawasaki Z1000r/Z900r

Also, the ones I can afford are all around the 2014-2016 models second hand

Thxm8, yeah they are definitely fun. I think one youtuber called it a "thug in a suit" which is about right. You don't buy them purely for performance, but they rip and very few bikes can compete in the retro styling. Allegedly Big CC is making 200 HP out of these on a humble 7-8 pounds of boost with their turbo kits as well. So if you want to go full retard, you can.

I didn't notice this early. IDK about the Z900 but the RS has basically no tech onboard. You get KTRC (3 traction control settings) and ABS and that's it. No cruise control, no ride modes, no quick shifter. I can't ride for shit anyway so none of that bothers me, but yeah if you actually want some tech this is is not your bike. It's even a cable throttle. I think even fucking Harley Davidson doesn't make that shit anymore.

Not many Honda dealers do them. None of the 3, including the one I work at, in my area do them. Best hope is the demo truck will come to your area and you haven't missed it for the year. Most should let you sit on them, but that's as far as it will go. It's common for other brands, Yamaha and Harley are the ones I know do a lot, but it's just not common for Honda. Sucks that's the way it is, but insurance and stuff is a pain.

additionally, you can lower most of them with lowering kits (even though that fucks up the geometry a little bit)
youre not supposed to gt down on both sides, its enough if you can flatfoot it on one side while having your ass sliding down a little.
can you tiptoe on both sides when you sit on it?

What would happen if Honder made an AT with Goldwing engine? Take a huge shit on BMW's face when they are asleep when making GSes in Chyna?

Knowing how these systems work, that's likely the case.

ADVCharlie is 5'3 with a 790 Adventure... Sounds like you need to suck it up.
>>28486594
I'm moderately tempted to lower mine with a spring kit (the f800 are under sprung from factory).
>>28486598
No, I feel more able to slip through traffic on a bike though. Zipping around cars driving slow in the mountains is great.

the AT is already barely capable of offroading with how pigfat it is (unless you know what you're doing)

there's also a reason most dual-sport ADV bikes are twins

that's the problem, I genuinely couldn't get the "momentum" to stand the bike from the left foot to the right one so that I could't flip the kickstand, it was simply too tall, I'm sure I could probably swing my leg with practice but that was a demo bike and I didn't want to domino the entire dealership

>>28486601
maybe a mix of leg length/inseam plus tank/seat shape?
But the thing is the tuareg has a very narrow seat and I couldn't

Since supermotos/enduros are basically on the same kind of suspension/geometry I can't touch on those too

5'9 here i have only ever riden tall bikes. A DRZ400 and now a T7. You have to get used to sliding off one side of the seat to get 1 foot down when stopping. On pavement it is easy on actual terrain it can be a bit tough. Need to think ahead and be aware of the slope where you are stopping

If anyone can make it happen, its Honda, either reduce the displacement by half or, chop to two cylinders, It will be glorious. We need Honda to start flexing their muscles again. Suzuki stopped doing it and they have become atrophied.
