Good news: Fedex actually came through for me and got my helmet here the day they said they would

Sad news: I open it and it becomes clear why this was on closeout sale on Revzilla. There's some kind of powdery residue on literally all of the rubber all around the helmet. I'm guessing this is where the rubber has dried out from sitting in a warehouse for so long.

Can I even fix this with time, sandpaper, and some kind of re-hydrating oil or is it time to RMA? This is the most expensive single piece of kit I've ever bought ($350 closeout)
