All jokes aside and in no particular order, they're chrysocolla, a weird form of pyrite with a lump of something else in it(not hematite), and high sulfide sodalite (aka yooperlite) which causes it to glow in the early morning light/under a black light.
Picrel is a ball of russian fluorescent sodalite that seemingly everyone in the UP sells as "yooperlite". It's cheaper to import russian rocks and sells them as a local attraction than it is to find the damn things locally. The broken lump pictured earlier was the mission goal for my last expedition to the UP. I had to go find the damn thing myself.
I still have to plan a trip down to TN to look for river geodes. I simply can't trust any of the ebay sellers not to sell me chinese geodes.
I am not autistic.

>929 has 20 more hp and 6 more lb tq
>929 weighs a whole 55 pounds less (wet weights)
>lower mpg range (not something igaf bout but still)
>smaller trunk on the RC
>longer wheel base than the 929
>10k rpm redline (rc51) vs 11.5k rpm redline (929)

You are right about the powerband differences, definitely something to consider. I own a VFR right now so idk which path to take

Any input on adv helmets?
what about vintage looking ones?

I have a modular rn because it's easier to put on with glasses and it's nice to have if i just want to stop and drink some water but i see i never actually use the modular part of it as if i stop i just remove it and if i'm hot i just open the visor slightly to get some fresh air quickly.
So i guess i probably have a noisy type of helmet, those other two styles can't be worse than that and they will probably be lighter too since they lack the latching mechanism, right?
Not looking for an immediate buy just wanted to know what other anons have experienced, i also probably have a never used arai MX helmet i can take as a hand-me-down for free (in a nice white/magenta/cyan color scheme since i saw it's being discussed), but i guess that's more for wannabe hooligans or serious offroad more than confort.

In additional the general look of it, it's too perfectly and uniformly dirty. It's like a dry brushed scale model. There's no variance to the dirt, more in some areas and less in others and no areas where it's wiped if which would happen if it was actually ridden.

Also if you zoom in and look closer at it there's no real detail to anything, no definition to the heads of any of the bolts, the brake caliper is a blob, the brake hose looks more like a wiring harness, the footpegs don't make any sense, no rear brake pedal, the lower part of the rear subframe is split for no reason, the end can of the exhaust is also a bit blobby, and the spokes of the wheels are all over the place.

I agree like everyone says in this thread that this helps disconnecting the man from the road more and more. It basically makes it a scooter that you just need to quickshift.

I have a friend with a CBR650 with that thing and he says he doesn't know how to use a clutch anymore. I rode it and yea, its just an almost automatic motorcycle. Real smooth. I like it in some ways but I'd never actually want one on my bike.

Honda has way better electronics than yamaha for example. and it also shows here. My CRF250L was way more stable and precise with fuel injection and timing than my tenny. The tenny is better mechanically.... ok maybe a bit unfair since the CRF250 and tenny are pretty different in priceing.

The primary reason I choose a motorcycle over a bicycle is that I absolutely hate bicycle seats.
Wide and plush = unhealthy pressure points, no bueno for long rides.
Hard and narrow = my ass hurts.

Otherwise I'd consider e-bikes the most superior form of transportation.
Quiet rides > engine roar.
Light is right, a vehicle you can lift with one hand is just more fun than any fat pig.

Bike seats are both very personal preference and have an adjustment curve where even the best fitted seat is gonna feel bad for a few rides until you get used to it. Basically you want to support your two pelvis "sit bones" with some cushioning and not have pressure on anything else. The big fat cruiser seats are kind of a trap, what you want is a narrow-ish seat that fits your two pelvis pressure points but still has enough cushioning that you can ride without getting sore. I'm lucky the stock seat my bike came with works for me but it's different for everybody, sometimes a cheap seat is what's comfy.

I live in an area with very good bike infrastructure so in a lot of ways e-bike is preferable to driving/motorbiking, especially for short distance stuff in town. I love being able to charge the batteries in my apartment and not have to worry about gas. The downside is longer trips are hard and riding on the shoulder in less urban areas is a bit stressful.

That's why I had to stop today. The hardware store only had Loctite 271. Hinson calls for a generous amount of 272. I always thought loctite was supposed to be used sparingly to allow it to dry, but I guess you're supposed to use a lot for this particular application.

Jbs shocks are 80-$130. That ain't much and I'm trying to get the ergonomics to feel a bit better after changing the seat. My legs are still in an awkward position on the pegs, ankles hurt cause I have my foot slightly lifted to get on the brake or shift, I'm hoping lifting the rear fixes a lot of the ergo issues I have had just I worry about the kickstand and chain with the extra height.

>i4 is bad as a street engine
I really don’t understand where this meme comes from, there are plenty of i4’s tuned for low end torque.
The smooth power delivery in your first few thousand RPM is really nice, the weaker engine braking is also nice so you can take your hand off the throttle every once in a while. The peakiness is ideal for highway riding too.
Even when I’m wringing it out I’m getting still getting 40+mpg similar to an SV
It sounds absolutely amazing, the only real problem for street riding IMO is that it shits out heat but so do Harley’s and other air cooled engines and they never get called “bad street bikes” for it

This is a lean condition. Since it happened suddenly it's probably a vacuum leak causing extra air to go in the engine. Check the airbox and all the tubes and hoses for damage or disconnection. If some guy did an EGR delete, check if his patch job is holding up. It could also be a failure of the fuel pump or a filter or injector that got blocked by debris causing the fuel going in to be less. So check all of that shit too and see if it works.

It's definitely not valves, the air filter having a mouse, or an ECU issue. The ECU is a solid state device on a motorcycle, it doesn't learn, please do not waste your time with this

Okay but I feel like there’s an important distinction between city riding and street riding.
I’ve ridden my bike in the city plenty and it’s not great for spending 20+ minutes at stoplights but if you know that that’s all you’re going to be doing then you might as well get a scooter for convenience and MPG’s sake
But if you’re just taking it to get out of town and then go somewhere nice why would you compromise and get a different engine configuration to slightly alleviate the worst part of riding of that you won’t enjoy anyways

I disagree, used to ride fireblades and that thing was sweet for the street. When you don't have much power in the lower section of the powerband it permits you to tackle stop n go traffic. Just nerf the bike by shifting into a higher gear than 1st.
