if its the same moonroof from the kia sportage - don't do it, their moonroof is much smaller than the designs from other brands - I mean its nice and all but it really cuts in on headroom and you don't want that - I was in a ford escape uber today and the sunroof was SO much bigger - but the rest of the car was a bit smoler than my sportage and the interior was much older/worse/rental car

I realize other manufacturers are mostly the same - but its so strange to me that Kia/Hoondai are so stingy with the mica/metallic flakes in their paint - you can't get anything REALLY bright or metallicized - the colors are all kinda bland - though I guess the red in the Sportage is the nicest of the lot - but it's still dull.

their 8 speed automatic is perfectly fine EXCEPT that it loafs in 8th gear on the highway which is ok if the highway is both straight and flat and you are in iowa - but if you are in the hills it sucks and you can't go as fast as you want with cruise control on because of it - so i usually manually shift it into 6th gear for more traction
their dct is legendarily bad (well, apparently there's two and the cheaper one sucks)
>and rwd
makes no sense, compromises packaging - you just can't fit as much people and stuff with awd - the kia stinger didn't sell cuz it was too cozy inside

their wet dct is pretty great, and would fit perfectly for the application if you didn't want a manual
i'm convinced most problems with dcts are due to normies not knowing theyre not just a typical torque converter auto, plus maybe the dry dct is just bad idk
as for rwd if you're gonna build a sports car it's gotta be rwd at least, to compete against the supra/mustang/z (just my example of where they can add an N model into the market where hyundai have nothing currently, there's no chance to gain any market share with fwd, it's just not capable of being as quick, and awd doesn't make sense either
i'd settle for a v6 but pulling a toyota and just putting in a b58 from bmw would be way cooler
Anonymous No.28545287 [Report] >>28545888
>>28545278
oh and the other thing is that it kinda like is a fixable problem - the gearing cuz there's highway driving assist mode and FRUSTRATINGLY it gives you a low gear for UPHILL curves, but not downhill ones - I believe on newer models the adaptive cruise does have a curve sensor
but it just seems like all you need is a yaw sensor and it would be easy so its weird more cars don't have that
but i dont really enjoy driving i wish the car drove me itself - all i do is put in the gps
>as for rwd if you're gonna build a sports car it's gotta be rwd at least,
the whole point is to be affordable and practical they can't compete with german and italian rwd sports cars and trying is stupid
throw a v6 into the sportage or kona

>and just putting in a b58 from bmw would be way cooler

Yeah bro it means people wanna race them in a series not just the occasional rally win. Racing a shit box excel doesn't count. They've only just started making anything resembling an enthusiast car. So don't get smart trying to compare Hyundai with euro manufacturers or even the japs >>28551044

You'd be an actual retard to buy an elantra n over an fk8 or fl5 type r. If you're insistent on a fucking fwd car. Looks, performance and depreciation. I don't even like fwd but when I got to drive a mates fk8 I was impressed from the second I sat in the seat unlike the n. >>28551053
Yeah cheers champ I'll keep that in mind I've probably been driving longer than you've been alive. >>28551088
