I am back from the test ride. Before handing me the keys the dealer said "I have a tenere, now I'm selling it".
Between this kove, 450mt, and t7, I think 450mt is the best product offer, but 800x is the best bike.
It is nimble, and it feels super light, you can comfortably grab it by the handlebar and luggage rack and tilt it 45 degrees and back upright without much effort. Only lowering it 60 degrees I realized that I'm actually still dealing with a 190kg machine and dropped it. The only thing that got scuffed was the bar end weight.
I found a slope to simulate the most miserable conditions for manhandling a bike. It was OK, still requires effort to push and pull it, but with t7 in the same situation I would be really uncomfy and much more sweaty.
Enough torque in any gear, I accidentally did slow speed manoeuvres in 5th, no issue.
Windshield sucks for me, owner (dealer) is taller and has no complaints.
I forgot to take note of the vibrations. I'm sensitive to them, even cp2 is unpleasantly vibey for me, and usually I pay attention to how buzzy a bike is, but spending half an hour on this bike I didn't sense any irritation, didn't even think about that.
Riding below 20km/h isn't smooth if you rely on throttle alone, but not really an issue as clutch is light enough.
Brakes suck. Not like really suck-suck, but they are tuned for offroading.

t7 has one advantage over 450mt: power. I see no advantage over this kove. CHYNA BAD, yeah, whatever.

I'm the kove 800 poster, glad you enjoyed it. I wish I could take a test ride. Kove is apparently 196kgs, V-Stronk is 230kgs? Why would Suzuki do this? Are they even trying? Atleast Honda and Yamaha are in the same ballpark, Suzuki is not even trying. I never realized F900GS and F850GS was such pig fat. Is BMW even trying?

I was trying to lay it down gently to see where it touches the ground and to test how hard will it be to pick up, it just quickly went from "wow, it's so light" to "damn, I should've anticipated this weight but I didn't".
I was ready to pay for the repairs if anything went wrong, but the owner/dealer just replaced the bolt holding the bar end weight and that was it.

> V-Stronk is 230kgs? Why would Suzuki do this? Are they even trying?
They are making a bike for tarmac adventuring, nothing wrong with that.
I'm more upset about their DR-Z4SM specs. Why can't it be lighter? Why can't it have 6th gear? Why can't it come here sooner to see how bad it is in person?

At least the modest pipes and vortex ecu and switxh usually run 1000-1500 depends but theyre easily the most best and necessary investment for this bike

What are the big issues you see later on with chinese bikes? I've had a Chinese scooter and it was reasonably solid. When I did my oil changes the magnet would show very little iron filings, even for a filter-less engine. I didn't have it long before I sold it to my co worker but even he says it still runs great. Is it an age thing? I think most of it is user error.

All they have to do is not rely on the US because Japan's folly was thinking the US had their back until the Plaza Accords happened.

They're taking steps to try separating themselves from us, but ultimately there isn't exactly a huge market of rich ADV dads wanting to get into adventure biking in China and have tons of disposable cash to ride the country, so CFMoto would be SOL without us. AS would a lot of other companies.

Anyway LIfans are actuallly very nice Dual Sport thumpers, and Honder made a mistake discontinuing this dual sport when they had a perfect 250cc entry that was cheaper than the CRF. Because now 100% of the profits that could have been earned on a mid-level entry between the CRF300 and the XR150L that could have been the XR250 is now just going to a Chinese company that objectively ripped off their engine and counterbalancer.

I don't do what I call 'shilling', it's just reality. These bikes are filling gaps in the market the other manufacturers have fucking ignored because they think they got it all figured out. CFmoto and Royal Enfield exist because the great American, European, and Japanese bike makers who used to own those markets and keep an iron grip on anyone entering it, simply abandoned them.

I love healthy competition, so I hope all manufacturers pick up their game and give us the bikes we have been asking for years.

>filling gaps in the market
what gaps?
all the big japs make great 125s and bikes up to 400/600 class, as well as having good 1000cc+ bikes
KTM and BMW have their autistic CC niches
Harley and Indian make BIG BIKE BECAUSE BIGGER IS BETTER USA #1 HYB WATCH OUT FOR THEM CLIBBINS

the only "gap" in the market is poorfags who want something for nothing - instead of just buying an old bike thats actually worth its mettle, they'll cry and cope it doesnt have retarded electronics, and fall for chinkshit bait for 1/2 the price, then spend triple fixing it, if they can even get parts

just admit youre poor and/or scour fb marketplace for something reliable

Harley? No, thereโ€™s parts for it. Jap? Yes, unless itโ€™s ready to ride. Harleys will ALWAYS have parts to get it running. You should ideally get a something newish that runs as your first bike so youโ€™re actually putting in riding time instead of wrenching time that comes with old bikes.

So I've been considering a bike for some time, and recently thought about buying a salvage bike. Nothing destroyed, but fallen over, scratched tank, fairings, etc. I can paint and fix a fair share of the stuff myself (Can't imagine it's more complex than my cars), and was curious what I should be wary of. I read death wobble comes from cheap forks/front struts. Should that be something I replace regardless of damage? Chain or belt replacement by default? I'd like to keep the price under 5k if possible. I've seen a lot of Aprilia Tuono 660's for sale, many just a couple years old. Anyone know the good and bad of modern Aprilias?

No it doesn't, it has disk breaks at the front and drum breaks at the back.

A lot of YouTube is saying that it's a good learners bike.

I currently have a dying SYM Jet 14 50cc scooter and I'm thinking of replacing it with the Honda CB125F, mostly because of its fuel efficiency (1.4L/100km) and it's supposed to be one of the cheaper bikes, I'm guessing the price will be around 3k-4kโ‚ฌ.

Are there some other bikes you would suggest over this one? I live in Portugal, if that's relevant.

BMW G310R / G310GS. Rebel 250, Rebel 300. You have too many options, search used, newer model years and pick a bike anon, its going to be more fun than CB125 for the same price.

Not a mechanic but could use some tips or help.

Riding my GSX8r and my front wheel/tire doesn't feel the same. I'm not sure how to describe it. It felt wobbly in a way that I haven't felt before on any of my previous rides with the same bike as well as never felt that way riding other bikes. Looking everything over everything seems tight and normal, it's a newer bike and I haven't done any sort of serious work on it besides an oil change. Air pressure is right. I was able to ride normally. I took it for a 'safety' ride near my house at lower speeds to see if something would go wrong, but it didn't.

Am I just tweakin' or what can I do?

Fuel efficiency,
less important but still relevant, the new one has a USB port and a colour display which (supposedly) can show navigations.

I'll look into Duke 125
and Suzuki 125, though I do want to switch from automatic to manual transmission, because those tend to break less often so I'm not really looking for scooters.

I bought my current scooter in december and since then I've already had it in the shops around 4 times... I paid 1100โ‚ฌ for the scooter and spent 500โ‚ฌ on repairs that did nothing...

That's why I'm looking into something new and reliable, I also really like fuel efficiency.

Depends on how tall you are. Previous iterations of that engine did cook people's shins, but from what I'm told it's no different to an LC8 bike cooking it's seat, a guzziv7 II that left a dent in my shins, my beemer cooking my inner thigh, or some people complaining that the T7 engine casing knocks their foot off the pegs.

ABS is the only meaningful safety feature I can think of that bikes didnโ€™t have in the 50s and 60s. The modern suspension setup was in use, it just sucked, they had brakes (drum, which sucked, but you can copy the look easily if you think itโ€™s important), etc. so when anon says โ€œrant it unsafeโ€ the answer is no. For instance, hereโ€™s an 07 sportster (if memory serves) that was modded to look like a โ€˜58. This is not beyond a factory.

The only time I can think of anyone going down was the 919cc CBR900RRs

The 471cc is because the base engine design was 399cc for Japan where it needed to hit a displacement limit and that was how far they decided it was practical to stroke it out for overseas where it doesn't matter what the displacement is.

I've been watching a lot of cycling videos lately because I'm teaching my 3 year old to ride a bicycle - step one on his journey to a motorcycle as far as im concerned - and just to /blog/, seems like cyclists are completely unaware motorcycles exist, in a way even cagers aren't.
Every advantage they say about bicycles over cars is true about motorcycles - smaller, cleaner, quieter, denser travelling etc, except we can go 100mph and none of us are bitching about needing protected lanes.

Good morning, busy sex havers, thank you for your attention. I think KTM is going to be the next Suzuki. Suzuki's TL1000R is KTM's 790/890 situation. Will KTM lost the spark? Just like Suzuki? Will they become conservative like Suzuki? KTM's new owners Bajaj is pretty conservative. Will KTM stop racing? Sad for team orange desu ne?

I own one.
Don't care if it's good or not, I like it. I was just pointing out that in western markets it's equipped differently, the indian one came stock with lowered suspension and seat.

Its not schizo theory
Its basic maths

Incandescent lightbulba stimulate you with lower wavelength redlight tones and warmer colors, both fluorescent and mercury bulbs irradiate you with blue light and that shit causes a host of issues like headache and migraines to some
Also LEDs have a rapid cycle and that afaik is causing blindness let alone theyre bright as fuck lumen wize

Incandescents also have other benefits like warmth, i think only high pressure sodium lamps have anywheres close the wavelength and harmony associated with more natural light tones

I think there was another angle with regard to immunity, mental health, possibly vit d production but i cant confirm those off thr top of my head
They sold us the lie of muh environment and muh efficiency, but there are actual health benefits

The brake lever is adjustable. You can put some slack in the clutch cable if you need to, but it's not quite the same.
My zx14 and Ducati have hydraulic clutches, so those levers are actually adjustable. Would be nice if my cable clutch bikes had that, but putting just a little slack in the cable does the job. I like the look and feel of OEM levers so it's worth it.

I way prefer the OEM clutch lever to the adjustable ones that came with my 600, even the full length one for whatever reason.

It is also $15 to replace instead of $80 or whatever so there's that.

The full length is CRG, I think I just don't like the lack of vertical taper for 4 finger clutch use and the way I release the lever.
