I've always wanted to tear up golf courses on my DR650 but I have it riced the fuck out with everything custom and a bunch of stickers for states I've traveled and other autism like energy drink stickers. I wouldnt worry too much. EMP's cause damage more on large scales, the length of wiring is what causes high voltage and currents to build up as the magnetic fields travel along it. Cars and motorcycles are far less vulnrable unless you are very close to a blast. More would be looking into what alternative fuels the bike can run as infrastructure breaks down.

Look up "attack position" (yes the name is dumb) for dirtbikes and focus on riding like that and letting the bike work the terrain underneath you. Less front brake, more rear brake. Don't be afraid of the back tire breaking loose, dirt is gradual and it will come back in line in a moment. That's it.

You can "grind the fundamentals" on whatever bike you want. Actually it's better to practice on the machine you actually want because then you become accustomed to piloting that specfic bike.
