If you are riding a 125 scooter then don't bother with gear, wear some comfy leather boots and gloves that you can take off with ease. ATGATT is the most plebbit take imaginable. Gear is for road rash when you are doing 80+ and squiding out on the streets where you are bound to hit some gravel or something one day at speeds too quick and lean angles too extreme to be able to avoid such situations.
