The danger of riding is way, way overstated among normies and even anons, as you can see here. Much like how gun violence statistics are reduced by at least half when you take out police action, suicides, and gang violence, motorcycle accidents are not nearly as bad when you take out anyone who was drinking and/or not wearing a helmet. I'm not in favor of everyone riding but you people are writing this off based on bad information.

Thing with motorcycles is no matter how good you are at riding, someone covid vaxxed and medicated out of their mind will eventually kill or cripple you.

I’ve been riding since I was 17. When I first met my wife I told her right away that I own a bike and I’m grandfathered in so no matter what happens she can’t tell me that I can’t own one. Years later married with young kids I sold my bike and was without a bike for a year. I realized I needed one now more than ever and she had absolutely no problem when I said I was buying a new one. I took out a large term life insurance policy and ride with self preservation in mind which means mostly riding empty backroads and dirt roads in the middle of nowhere with speeds rarely ever exceeding 70mph.

I ride 15,000ish miles per year and I still wouldn't ride pavement if I were a father. Trade to a dirtbike or go track-only, only takes one clapped Altima and then your kid grows up the child of a single mom. Practice defensive riding all you want, sometimes there is nothing you can do.

There's always something you can do when you are in control of your own destiny. When/if you see a potential hazard ahead you slow down and be prepared to take avoiding action. Don't ride in cager blind spots. Assume every car is trying to kill you and avoid them. Filter to the front of stopped traffic and stay ahead and clear of them when the light goes green. They can't kill you if they can't catch you.

Just curious, how many races have you done and how much track time do you have? Being able to go 100% full balls on track tires and an actually prepped surface is way more fun to me than even mountain roads. The only place I can really justify backing it in on the street is some of the corners on Palomar south grade. On a kart track I get to back it in about twice a minute.

I raced on four wheels for over fifteen years. Then turned to racing pushbikes for ten years. Now I compete against the clock to deliver hot food in a timely manner. I've driven and riden hard on both closed circuits and public roads and the public roads bring a higher risk factor which ultimately leads to a higher reward. high risk = high reward.
If you're too scared to ride on public roads because some kid in a Golf might randomly take you out then try taking Brexpiprazol. It's fantastic at elevating paranoia. Or just stay home or ride around in circle on a closed circuit wearing a suit of armour.
