Went to my Local Honda/Can-am/KTM Dealer to look at a 2024 holdover Transalp. It was completely empty on Saturday at noon. Only one guy working there. Didn't know where it was at, and he went to go find out. He tells me there was an issue from factory they were correcting it. I asked how that would be caught after they've had it for a year. He left again and came back to tell me someone dropped it. So, he lied to me and that's where the conversation started. He also tried to show me a KTM 390 ADV R, which I flatly told him isn't comparable or something I'd be interested in. Lastly, before I left he asked me if I wanted to put a deposit on a bike he didn't even know when it would be fixed. Obviously, I said no.
Next, I decided to head to the Triumph/BMW dealer to look at a holdover Tiger 900. Didn't really want it, but maybe I could set up a test ride and it would be the better pick. I roll up a little before 1pm, walk-in, and they tell me they're closing up early and that's it for the day. At 1pm on a Saturday they closed up shop.

I want to do my first oil change on my own to my CB650R (14k km, previously done for free in the dealership). The problem I have is owning a shit rear wheel stand only and not being able to drain the whole thing out (the plug is facing backwards too so it would stay too high to drain the whole oil pan). How do you do your oil changes?

Most of the bikes not sold in the US (or outside of Japan in general because they're Japan-only) are mostly smaller displacement bikes that wouldn't sell here. We don't have displacement specific licenses. You can get your endorsement from your state and then go out and ride a liter bike, a 1.2l V4 from Ducati, or a 1.9l Harley-Davidson as soon as you get the endorsement added, no issue.
In the case of larger bikes like the CTX series, they'd face stiffer competition and it's just splitting an already thin hair even thinner. The larger bikes they don't bring would also have to be even more competitive with larger displacement bikes that are cheaper in the US than they are in Japan, meaning they have less control over the market.

Same same but different. Can't tell much without riding them as you can't tell how the suspension, geometry, fuel map etc work from a spec sheet.
GSX8S has 10% more hp, but weighs 10% more. GSX8S has quick shifter, MT07 doesn't. The new MT07 has similar specs and electronics to GSX8S, but the older ones don't.

Specs say 6.3" of front travel so it's definitely in range. They shouldn't get up there super often especially with the ohlins springs this thing has, but still. I'm throwing new seals and bushings in them anyways, we'll see what happens. I can easily feel the pits with my fingertip, I might try more destructive methods on the part of the tubes above the lower triple first to see how much damage they do. I just don't want seals to be a yearly or twice a year job, I'm going back to college and I would rather not take the entire front end off the bike once or twice a year in either the dorm's parking lot or wherever I can rent some housing.

My friend, let me tell you that there is never a time when something is not coming up. Life just keeps happening. If you wait for life to stop happening before you do anything then you will never do anything. You have the money now. Bikes are not going to get cheaper. Spending money before the child comes is easier than after the child comes. To a woman all your money is theoretically theres anyway, especially after you knock them up. You saved this money for this, spend it for this. Babies don't actually need much money to look after them, but first time mothers will spend vast amounts they don't need to chasing "the best for my baby" because they don't yet understand that everything exists to be shit on, puked on, broken, or only used for two weeks before the baby outgrows it.
Buy the bike. She'll be mad, but she'll get over it so long as you do the things dads do when they need to do it. Kids aren't really hard to raise, the hard part is managing the expectations of your spouse.

The only people who really believe that are homos who are trying to reason away their lust for cock for religious reasons. They think, "wanting to play with another mans dick is just a sinful impulse that everyone experiences, so I must choose to resist it." But the reality is that hetero men never want to play with another mans dick so there is no struggle to resist it. So if you really think being a homo is a choice then you are outing yourself as a repressing gay because you have psyopped yourself into thinking cocklust is normal.

It's not about the option, it's about the desire. Sexual orientation is about what you want to do. A straight man will never want to suck a dick. The choice is to do a thing or not do a thing, not whether or not you want to. Being gay is wanting to whether you do it or not. You can't choose to want to, and wanting to is what makes you gay, therefore you can't choose to be gay.

No, they don't. If they did, they wouldn't have a bunch of bikes that were sitting on the showroom floor for over a year.
I can also get them at other places, they're not the only people that sell them in my area.

I can accept that, but at least be good at lying. If you're blatant about it, I'm not going to waste my time with someone outwardly dishonest. That's not a smart move in any situation.
>I had a really bad experience buying my zx14 new from a dealership.
I expected it to be a shitty situation. I actually used to sell them myself years ago right after college. I got out of it because of how dishonest management was and having them butt into my deals to fuck people over. It wasn't fun, but at least I learned how they work.
>I've had better luck buying private but that's still pretty annoying too.
Sure, but, of course, what I want is available privately. And even if I found one, I'd barely save anything, wouldn't get a warranty, and have no idea how the thing was treated for the x amount of miles it already has on the odo. Just makes more sense to get a new (old) model to get the best of both worlds.

I always stick by the GS500 as the best first bike, but honestly that SV650S for $3k would be awesome if it's in good shape.
As long as oil changes were kept up and he wasn't wheely-ing it every day for 4 hours it's probably just fine.
Look up "(year) Suzuki SV650" and search the forums for common issues. And ask the owner about oil/filter changes.
I'd offer like $2750 because I'm a marketplace jew who likes to haggle, but I don't really see $3k as a bad price for an SV.

When I buy a bike, I don't give a shit about the condition of anything except the engine. As long as you keep up on oil changes there's usually nothing wrong. Oil is the life blood of the engine, and retards still neglect it.

If you want the best deal in the world, you just need to find someone who kept up on their oil changes, but not their valve adjustments.

Almost purely cultural
I’m a Harley defender through and through but our lack of small bikes, lack of sports bikes, the absolutely pathetic rate at which we ride motorcycles, these are all cultural. We’re significantly richer than anywhere else on earth so it’s not a question of can we afford it, most Americans live in major metros so it’s not a question of not being practical transpiration.
There’s no objective reason we should have such a dearth of ridership.
You might say “motorcycling is more dangerous in America” but this is a question of choice as well, retarded niggers (but I repeat myself) and other assorted subzero IQ browns pick up liter bikes with no training and crash and die.

Interestingly, in the Eighties DID and Suzuki did a roller-less chain. It had an oversized bush and no roller at all. The idea was that modern chain lube would eliminate sprocket wear. When my dad bought his Suzuki GS new in 1984 it came with this chain, and sure enough when it was time for a new chain the sprockets were like new. It was lubed regularly with whatever spray lube he was buying, and sometimes with gear oil.

Tends to have a lot to do with the parasite level in your guts too. Homosexual acts have in common their spread of gut parasites and most parasites can influence the behaviour of their host to some degree. When someone keeps to a course of anti-parasites homosexual thoughts tend to depart. Medical grade turpentine with sugar is meant to be pretty effective but there are others.

Ultrasonically there is a similar link with risk taking behaviour and toxoplasmosis parasites. Wherever you see risk taking motorcycle Youtubers like Gixxerbrah you tend to see cats hanging about in the background. If they get splatted a cat is statistically like to eat their entrails smeared over 100 yards or road and the lifecycle of the toxo parasite is complete (as cats are its definitive host).

Not that I don't take risks myself and I am miles off Gixxer Brah's skill level. Hopefully I am aware of my current low skills though.

Mouth should be pretty easy, just put the helmet on, put your thumb where your mouth is and keep it there, take the helmet off. For the ears there should be cut outs in the padding for them to sit in, I can't say I've had a helmet where it's one continuous bit of padding on the sides with no indents for the ears.

Another thing to consider is how many shell sizes are offered for the helmet and which one your helmet size falls under. For example a manufacturer could offer 5 shell sizes from XS to XL and that would give you the smallest overall helmet size, but making 5 different shells can be pretty expensive. However they could instead just make 2, but then for example you could have a medium helmet sharing the shell size of a large helmet and being more bulky, where as the large helmet would be the size you would expect.

Not everyone lives somewhere with year-round riding weather. Motorcycles are ultimately toys in the North American market. They chew through consumables and are expensive to insure, usually offsetting any cost savings in fuel. You buy one because you want one, not because it's practical.
>>28713065
Nakeds have a lot of options, look at Puig, Givi, MRA, Zero Gravity, etc. Dualsports usually have much more limited options as the windshield company doesn't want to punch/slice the rider in the throat off-road.
