i saved this too, the dude is a lurker here and he took this pic with a tiny ricoh gr iii and it's the best pic I've seen on this site.
This pic makes me question if you really need all that stupid and expensive and heavy Canon gear to take good pics.

>This pic makes me question if you really need all that stupid and expensive and heavy Canon gear to take good pics.
You don't. You don't need any of it. I ready something recently that opened up my eyes to just how far up their asses photographers are, especially ones that are obsessed with parroting their favorite social media influencer in hopes of recreating their work.
This is an anecdote relating to watches, but I'll be damned if it doesn't apply to cameras too.

>"Seiko is a luxury brand" is what a coworker told me seeing my seiko presage.
>I asked "why do you say that ?"
>She answered "well, Seikos are known to be expensive watches"
>To which I asked "How much is an expensive watch in your eyes?"
>"Anything that costs more than 150€"

Unless you're a war photographer or a photojournalist for NatGeo and need highly specific gear, or maybe work in a very high-end studio with a massive lighting setup, you absolutely do not need the best gear. You don't need a Sony A9III. You don't need a Hasselblad. And you most definitely do not need a fucking Leica.
I work at a film lab and I regularly see people come in with their M6s or 500CM and it is some of the most dogshit photography I've ever seen.

to leave the boring af lofi street genre, definitely. you actually do. function is function. the only cope available is just not taking the photos your camera struggles with. cameras are tools. just because you don’t need a chisel to bake a cake doesn’t mean chisels are useless.

or just seethe at bigger sensors on /p/ that works too (and saves you from wasting your time taking photos)

These are cameras, you literally do not need them period. You're spouting straight marxism.
>From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs
Where property is distributed according to who can serve the party with it

The reason the "worst" photographers have the "best" gear (leica, 500cm) is because they are successful people and ergo will never, ever, ever once in their lives buy the lie that photography is/can be an art form, compared to real rat like painting and music.

>greggs employee and european serf doesnt know how much real things really cost
the idea of a functional watch being affordable for poors is more recent than $8k timepieces believe it or not

poors are simultaneously entitled to the efforts of their betters and angry at us for having what they cant, insisting that we dare not own what they cant lest we make money (projecting their own pathetic servility and submission. dogs.)
and yet the average poor spends enough on drugs over their lifetime to outfit their family with a rolex at least. they would never. of course. they’d sell the rolex to buy a tv and another shitty crossover "car" or lifted truck if they did, for one moment, manage to put a single valuable item to their family name.
Anonymous No.4428571 [Report]
>>4428569
*lesr we use it to make money

surely you have noticed this
poor people get angry is something they cant afford isnt being used to make money
they are conditioned into employment and servility such that everythings purpose is to serve others

you know for certain that someone is poor, for example, if they state everything in terms of what others will think. the poor have no agency beyond entitlement and begging.

let them have their inevitable communist revolution and starve i say
