Anonymous No.4423701 [Report] >>4423702
>>4423691
for some snapshits I found 24mm too narrow on my 24-70
the streets are claustrophobically tight yet they have these huge faces of churches that you can barely get a proper look of because of the building opposite being too close, impossible to take a proper photo of
something narrower than 35 is nice to zoom into canals as well
buildings in Italy i noticed are generally just tall af
depends on the photos you like taking but if you only bring one I would say make it a zoom

another thing, I've never seen this many tourists in my life in one place, especially if you follow the google maps route from the train station to Palazzo Ducale
so I would suggest at least on your way back to take an alternative like the street by the sea going west from the palace
there I found some blocks which were basically empty
Venice really is like the movies tho and I recommend it to anyone, finally I can understand why its so popular having been there

you haven't seen the worst of it mate, I guess its a combination of too hard to fix up with the canals and all, plus some regulations about keeping the historical appearance of the streets
Anonymous No.4423707 [Report]
I just wonder how much of it is historical tourist trap that is vacant, and how much is lived in by locals. My guess is 99% vacation properties.

Did you chat up any locals? What is the rent like? Where do they work? How is their amazon package delivered? How do they get to a hospital?

I got to shoot a structural fire with a large fire dept response over the course of a couple of hrs. The bright spotlights and firetruck lights we're really difficult to deal with both at the time and during post processing, rendering unusable many of the shots that otherwise would have been nice. Does anyone know of any techniques or equipment that could help compensate for this kind of lighting? Is this something a filter would be appropriate for? This was my first time shooting in such an adverse condition.

Before that one russian cunt insisted on posting his shit photos as a new rpt thread every single time back in 09, this board actually had people posting sets as threads. Shit photos fell off but good photos actually had active discussion and stuff was actually interesting. Now almost all the actual photography posts are confined to here and the rest is just all gear and people tryharding posting the same tired memes over and over.

Panning shots on cars moving 200+km/h is kind of fucking hard. Even with practice and preperation, and a different lens, I was struggling to get the movement down.
I'm going to somewhat blame Canon's "panning detect" mode their RF lenses have. It would jerk around any time I swapped directions or if I tried to adjust the speed of my sweep; I would much rather the ability to turn panning mode off or on.

Anyway, I'll either dribble the better ones through the board over time, or I'll make another /cum/ thread if anyone gives a fuck. This board needs more photo threads.

I think the moody lighting only works if it's part of the story youre telling, like with these last two. otherwise.... yeah its just an instagram filter.

I always impressed and motivated when I saw great shots with the same shitty camera and lens I had. If I were getting into the hobby, I might look at these photos and think I wouldn't be able to make something comparable without spending 3 grand.
