Yeah he has a good eye. He should buy a camera with manual controls and a larger sensor, he would probably enjoy it a lot. It would make his pictures higher quality too.

Any modern day smartphone today easily competes with any camera setup. Cameras in phones have improved drastically in the past decade while mirrorless cameras have pretty much stagnated during that time.
Basically, dedicated camera devices exist for the few remaining boomers that enjoy turning physical dials and pressing buttons.

What lens is that? It looks way too small for the distance. It's out of focus and blurry as shit. The iPhone can use AI to reconstruct the details from the original (which is even shittier)

I'm sure the real phones camera uses a rudimentary AI noise reduction+sharpening and randomly decides to do a double/triple exposure and stack HDR so everything that moves a little ends up looking turbo shit, but for their keynote, it looks more like they reused the same photo and made it darker in MS paint.

if i squint i think i can hallucinate a sharpening fuck up with the black lines (the worlds least challenging thing to render) but I don't feel like zooming on that far

High end video cameras and stills cameras have opposing design requirements.

A camera that is godlike for photography is, by definition, going to suck at producing high quality video that you can zoom in on. The A7RV is still a little better because it doesn't need iphones AI fakeness to cover up sensor defects, but it's just not a video camera. In low light you'd see a bigger difference.

If they redid this with a proper video body that shoots 6k or 8k raw footage you'd really see the difference

Yeah you would, and if you cant see the difference already (that godawful hdr/sharpenig halo/ai wobble shit) you're just goyim. Cattle. Too dumb to notice things. Could be led into a slaughterhouse with a relaxing hallway.

Photography is a high IQ hobby because to appreciate it you need strong pattern recognition and observation skills.

One does not simply compete with an iPhone.
You must accept it for what it is, which of course is garbage. Obviously.
The mass of NPCs don't care. In fact, they wouldn't care if you took a photo, then took a 1080p screenshot of it in an image viewer, then upscaled that.

They are addicted to sharpening halos and AI smudgy trees and lack of actual detail. They like the melted box of crayons look.

It's not good, but they like it. They are wrong.
Let them have what they have. They will never be a real camera.

Sensors have never been the problem, lenses are, and phone lenses are not only fixed with fixed aperture, they're extremely poor quality. Cameras don't need to improve, lenses do, and they do improve.
Your post is useless.

It's useless because it's a faked comparison for a chinese keynote. The chinese are extremely dishonest people. No empathy or sense of higher ethical duty. Can't be trusted.

Don't buy chinkphones
https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/climate-energy/ghost-machine-rogue-communication-devices-found-chinese-inverters-2025-05-14/
Or anything chinese made that has wireless capability.

I disagree. While phone lenses have some limitations, mostly due to size, they benefit from economy of scale, and are pretty good quality.

The biggest problem phones have is processing. They are not designed around a dedicated image processing pipeline like a real camera, and are generally incapable of actually saving the raw sensor data to a file.
Instead the do a huge amount of automatic "correction" (color, noise, exposure etc.) which is then baked in with extremely aggressive compression.
So you end up with photos that always look shit, can't be manually unshittified, and with all the details full of wormy watercolor compression artifacts.

Lol there's a lot more to making a good photograph and even IQ than just MTF.
This is also a shitty chink phone, that is sold based on its 1.0-type sensor that's about 1/4 of the size as APS-C and a camera bump that means you can't pocket it without a purse or cargo shorts (ok, so not a big deal for 4chan nerds).
Enjoy your Chinese spyware and bloated as fuck and features unusable unless you're literally a Chinese citizen willing to have your entire life tracked.
Equivalent aperture of f/4.8.
Probably renders the little bokeh it does have like crap.
Just googled it: noise reduction that makes it less usable than an iPhone unless you like plastic scenes, super inconsistent and unnatural bokeh that varies from busy af to blurred as fuck because of post-processing on the same bokeh object lmfao.
It's going to be decent for making your Douyin videos and social media images. But that's it.
