I've been stretching the limits of my shitty phone camera, really need to get a dedicated camera but don't know where to start.
Anonymous No.4436772 [Report] >>4436773
>>4436771
Think about features you'd want and then make a list of cameras that match those specs, then just research them all and decide from there. Personally, I'd advise going with a full frame mirrorless camera, since someday you'd probably want to upgrade to one anyway once you become confident and know how to operate a camera.

Form factor, robustness, and cost are my primary concerns. I want something as compact as possible (aware of the compromises) and rugged enough to withstand getting wet, possibly falling down a slope, and within $2K

Mirrorless is easily the most compact, but if you want small form factor and low price, you'll probably end up with an APS-C. There are plenty around from Canon, Sony and Nikon, so take a look at those and narrow them down to APS-C and your budget, then do research on which model sounds or looks right to you.

A word of advice too is don't worry about gearfags and brand loyalty shit, buy whatever you want to buy and ignore tards that bitch about brands.

>Nikon Z30

All these are cheap enough to allow room for a lens (though some will come with a kit lens) and are compact in size. From memory, the Sony is the most compact of the lot.

This is a great picture, but I feel like it deservd another cropping and some color grading. You had a natural framing with the bars on the bottom and top but it doesn't work well enough to justify it being portrait. I tried cropping it to keep just his space, his work space, confining the picture to his world. Since the picture has lots of different colors I graded it to group certain tones and give it a warm vintage look. I also lowered the exposure to have the worker nicely exposed, the rest being in the shadow, as it should. Hope it makes sense. (The additional white framing is something I add so that the picture doesnt become too big when enlarged on 4chan, I feel it helps with visibility

There's something very mature and professional about this, the atmosphere, nice deep shadows and not overpowered highlights, nice catch

i see. honestly i'd print it out and wear it out a bit like the exmilitary album cover and then take a pic or scan of that

I'm not happy with the colours. They look ok on my calibrated monitor. Look great on most iPhones/iPads. But look awful on my Android OLED phone.
>>4437833
It's UltraMax at box speed. Average metering on my OM-4Ti. With Zuiko 50mm f/1.4 stopped down to f/16 and focused to a hyperfocal distance. DSLR scanned with a narrowband RGB backlight.
Would probably look nice on the "sun-kissed" lomo (aka orwo NC500) if one stop over exposed.

Reminds me of a photograph that was in my grandparents cabin for ages. It was a chipmunk perched exactly like this on top of a stone squirrel statue in their garden. Makes me nostalgic. You should print this out and put it in your computer room for your grandchildren.

I can tell because it looks better than fooframe without needing 45 gajillion pixels, and the camera was actually brought outside for something other than boomer landscapes and was instead used for a cool photo with vibes
